Confidence Haugen; Do Not Judge a Book by Its Cover

Describing Confidence’s sense of style as haute will be far-fetched; however, catastrophic does spring to mind immediately, especially considering the responses it provokes. Confidence may have stepped on some toes with her daring style, which has well, drawn some harsh criticisms. However, whatever the reasons behind her sense of fashion, it appears she has had her fill of the negative publicity surrounding her.  It’s about time the public shift its attention and focus on what she is least known for-her numerous charity works in Ghana.

Confidence is a champion of a string of causes in Ghana, but the cause closest to her heart is empowering the girl child. Confidence’s passion or keen interest in the plight of the girl child strikes a sour chord within. It reverberate memories from days of yore, one of a small town girl with dreams of making it big in the city (Accra). Unlike most girls holding on to such naïve dreams, she made it but barely. Confidence was a victim of this prevalent misconception that one is guaranteed success once one moves to the “Big City,” which in turn open doors to travel abroad. Having gone through that experience has had a profound impact on her outlook and perception; it serves as a motivation in her quest to educate the youth, especially girls on this ubiquitous misconception.

In her bid to bring much needed attention and to educate young girls in rural regions of Ghana, she has donated undisclosed amounts to charitable organizations that support the education of girls in the rural regions of Ghana. Confidence believes in the power of education. She believes education is the key to raising a generation of intellectuals and financially independent young girls, who do not have to resort to other degrading means to support themselves.

Confidence deserves to be commended for her charity works, but as usual bad deeds tend to overshadow good ones. It is important that she is seen in a different light as beneath all the negativity lay a soft core and a big heart. Confidence reached out in a big way, which will make a huge difference in the lives of girls who desperately need and deserve a chance at education.  Sometimes, there is the need to see beyond the exterior, as people’s internal attributes define them more than the external manifestations- Confidence is a testament to that.

  1. I dont dispute the fact that Confidence is a humanitarian  person and also very good in heart, but the problems is the way she carries herself around ,and the way she behaves like a prostitute. Girl go on with you humanitarian activities but check your lifestyle and the way you carry your self around. because it is like fetching water with a basket. whatever you do amounts to nothing “cos90”
