Nasara Insists She Is Still Ghana’s Most Beautiful. But I Say She Has No Moral Right To Be Ghana’s Most Beautiful….

Miriam Abdul Rauf AKA Nasara
Miriam Abdul Rauf AKA Nasara

Nasara Miriam Abdul Rauf is still claiming to be Ghana Most Beautiful winner 2009 after Tv3, the organizing body of the beauty pageant has issued a press statement to strip her off the title.

According to Tv3, Nasara has been found guilty in their eyes upon investigation of an alleged phone theft and to maintain the reputation of their pageant, they deem it necessary and fit to strip her off the 2009 title.

Nasara on the other hand has denied stealing any phone and “moving down” the line of set up and an attempt by TV3 to subject her to ridicule.( Why will TV3 make you and unmake you for no reason?, I do not know…)

Nasara in a recent interview with a Ghanaian tabloid Newspaper stated that  “I use three phones; a 2010 brand 26-gigs I-Phone, a Black Berry, a Nokia 5800 with a 32-gig capacity that is also a 2010 brand and I have three new phones in my wardrobe. Why would I steal a used phone? What for? ”

She further explained the circumstances surrounding the whole phone scandal as, in 2009 during a beauty pageant held in Philippines, she shared a room with Miss UK and “It was inblankthe middle of the night and I used her phone to make a call to Ghana to ask that my flight should be changed because I wanted to see a Tsunami that was announced. What I should have done was to have informed her when she returned.”

According to Nasara, “Later, Miss UK realized it but by then I was back in Ghana so she sent a bill to TV3 that the credits I used had cost her $150. TV3 called me and I admitted to having used her phone so I paid the $150 and that was all. I used her units in making a call, she says it cost her $150 and I have paid her”

I find the whole story very dicey and wobbly. If Nasara has used Miss UK’s credit without her prior consent and has subsequently failed to inform her after usage, is that not theft in it self?  Doesn’t she know it is absolutely wrong to do that? If the credit used was worth 150 dollars, then it is some long hell of call she made to Ghana.

Some of us Ghanaians abuse things when they do not belong to us. I guess she was thinking Miss UK will never find out. UK is not like Ghana where most individuals are on pay as you mobile plans. I guess she deleted the call history too right?

When the phone bill came, Nasara was busted and that is what it seems. To me, she has no moral right on any grounds to keep the title as Ghana Most Beautiful 2009. What do you think? Whether  she stole a phone or credit, there was a stealing…

Get over it Nasara and handover that which Tv3 gave to you. Next time, don’t just pick someone’s phone and use 150 dollars worth of credit out of it. Geez!! When will Ghanaians learn, we are always disgracing ourselves when we step out of our country….

  1. This girl paa! This is stupidity at it’s highest level. You steal someone’s 150 dollars worth of credit to make a phone call to Ghana, is that money not worth another phone? It means you have stolen a phone, and if you stole the credit, what makes you think we believe that you didnt steal the phone too?

You have 6 or 3 phones, yet you do not have credit on them. What is the sense in that? You are just talking nonsense out of your disgraced self. Park yourself somewhere in the corner and cry, you lil thief, disgracing Ghana and all the great things other Ghanaians are doing..

    • You are nuts to have condemned the girl. Wow… I think you should be able to answer this few questions for me. Have you ever made calls to other networks? What about to other countries? Do you realize they were not in UK when the incident occured? Well this is the fact. Miss UK had purchased International Dialing to her phone. Was using her phone also outside the country Uk. Just like you using your SIM outside Ghana. You will be given extra charges.Never think she made lots of talk. It might be the charges that are too high. Even in Ghana do you know winds come before rain? Well tell that of a TSUNAMI too then. Hell, how could she have gone out for credits? I believe she used no other person’s phone than Miss UK because of the relationship between them. If you hate someone you can’t eat their food. Pls give her some space. This is too much for her to even think up and bring answers right now. You already seeing her black so no matter what she does, you are not going to believe her but only God knows. She is our sister Ghanaian and I am amazed you are helping condemn her to the World and sending bad message of us. I have also noticed this website does nothing than condemning the celebrities. I am sure it is for a celebrity who has been neglected and is now punching hard on the up and coming. Wow… Keep it up.

  9. The big question still remains- did she actually steal a phone? Is Tv3 drawing a premature conclusion on this issue? She won fair and square and until she has been proven guilty in court she shouldn’t be demoted.

    • @ghallday,

I am replying to your comment cos I value your visit as a regular on here. But she stole the credit, so even based on that only, cant she be stripped off the title? Does she need to steal the phone before we can condemn what she did?

Tv3 can decide to say, we are stripping her off for stealing 150 dollars worth of credit. And if she stole the credit , don’t you think it will be diffcult to convince anyone including any judge of any Court that, she didn’t steal the phone?

      • @Chris-Vincent Agyapong, Well if she did steal it then that was the right decision. Some of us young people and materialism. Why? She deserves to be stripped off the title if she stole it…. beauty goes much farther than just a pretty face- character also reflects on beauty.

        • @ghallday,

She is not disputing the fact that she used Miss Uk’s credit without her consent. She is annoyingly saying, she paid her off later on so there is not big deal. Using 150 dollars of someone’s credit without her consent is theft… Paying it later does not still defeat the conception that you stole it..

      • @ohemma, Lol, seriously, if there is going to be a Tsunami shouldn’t you rather be trying to get out of there quick, instead of staying around to be a spectator? After the 2004 Tsunami that killed over 230,000 people in Asia, common sense would tell one that such natural disasters should not be taken lightly.
And I also agree using $150 worth of airtime suggests that she was also probably just “chatting” on the phone. She used the girl’s phone and failed to inform her, that means her intention was for the UK girl to foot the bill … that is theft, period.

  10. Why are you guys making a big fuss about this whole thing? tell me, who hasn’t stolen before? is it because you are not caught when you still or what? even big men in huge offices are stealing with their pens. so just let this girl be ok. she said she did not steal any phone so LEAVE HER ALONE. Nasara i love you ok. let them say whatever they please i know u are not a thief. i believe you. i am strongly behind you. indeed you are still Ghana’s Most Beautiful. Forever my queen.

  11. i agree with the article apart from the conclusion about Ghanaians disgracing ourselves whenever we go outside Ghana. that is the most unreasonable conclusion a person can draw on the vast number of Ghanaians living elsewhere! the writer should be ashamed of himself for denigrating Ghana the way he did. he should bow his head in shame.

on the Nasara girl, i think she should shut up and be quiet. how can u use something belonging to your roommate without informing her? what was she thinking? she should know that there are basically 2 different types of thieves. one who comes purposely to steal, the other sees an opportunity and then steals! her conduct is close to the second. it is a lesson to everybody. don’t think no one is watching. why didn’t she seek permission before making the call? why didn’t she inform her when she came back if it was so urgent that she couldn’t wait. if miss uk had not found abt the call wd she have paid for it? if i were her i would not even offer this explanation. i would just deny the fon theft!

  12. i’m reali shocked that ppl are encouraging such stupid behaviour. how can u pick some1s fone in the middle of the night, use it to kol home to have her flight changed. question 1: wht travel agency works in the middle of the night? 2. couldn’t the kol have waited till morning. 3.why didn’t she inform Miss UK about the fone usage in the morning. 4.is it right to use anoda persons property with informing him/her? i don’t giv a damn abou the numba of fones she owns, it’s not only poor people who steal.go to our boarding hauses and u’ll see the numba of rich students caught stealing. can u imagine,”when she realised it, i was alreadi bak in Ghana.” this is foolish n shouldn’t be encouraged. when u wanna use something that doesn’t belong to u, ask for christ sake.

  13. Ok, My very first daunting question to this website is whether they also sought permission from “people magazine .com” before using their exact replica as their background website?? If not that could be literally interpreted as theft too. ( Just Saying) That being asked, I’d like someone to tell me why Our dear “queen” only made that call in the middle of the night as alleged in this article. and I’ve heard an audio version of the queen say that she heard news about the tsunami and had to make the call because she needed the next available flight to leave wherever it was they were because she was frightened and not to see the tsunami as written here!!!! People should learn to confirm facts before putting it all out there and stop being judgemental. PEACE!!!

  15. This story is a lil confusing to me, what shes saying is she used the phone to make long distance calls to Ghana, without the consent of Miss UK, and she paid her for the calls, I thought she stole the phone itself but if she used the phone to make calls and paid for it where does the stealing comes in, not to say it was right for her to use or make calls without the permission of Miss Uk. Someone is lying I dont know who to believe.

  16. the problem with us Ghanaians is that very behaviour is acceptable. do we know we have etiquettes for phone usage, you can’t get up, pick somebody’s phone and make calls and what about our valued Ghanaian morals, anything pick without asking is stealing?
    Folks, have we forgotten?
