Social Issues: What A Disgrace, What A Fellow African Would Do To Enter White Man’s Land

blank

African is rich, yes we are rich yet most Africans have no dream of being able to make it on our own land. Abrokyire is seen as a junior heaven and by all dubious means, some Africans would want to achieve their dreams of coming abroad to attain riches .  What is this misconception about America, Europe or Asia being continents of greener pastures ? What happened to our own blessed and rich Africa?

The write up below plus the videos  challenged my mind this morning when I stumbled upon it. The challenge is…. we need to educate ourselves that, no where is cool. We can make it wherever we find ourselves, most importantly our own Africa.. Read Below for more….

The videos below are definitely a bit old and I surely know that so do not try to tell me. Watching these videos again sadden my heart and some aspect of me feels disgraced as an African, especially a Nigerian.

With all the goodies including Oil we are blessed with in our country, a brother would go through all thick and thin just to enter a western country with a delusional concept of “going to be rich” in few months.

It is time to educate some of these people throwing out disgrace and dirty names to Nigerians in pursuit of happiness in Oyibo-land to bring them to the realization that, the grass might seem greener at the far end, but immediately you get there, the other side would look greener too….

  4. is the grass really greener on the other side? determined africans can work upto 3 jobs abroad and sleep less than 4 hours a day all in the name of saving money. its a shame we dont put that same effort in our own countries. its refreshing to see young educated africans returning back home to contribute to the economy. most people after selling their cocoa farms and going to ITARY and GYARMAN, realised things wasnt like the way they saw it on tv. its sad africa continues to wallow in poverty after all the gold and oil fields, diamond and uranium deposits. our african leaders have played their parts in this cycle as well as the colonial masters. its not all doom and gloom, statistics show the number of people returning HOME has increased and the trend looks to increase in the future. If you can make it in africa you can make it anywhere.

    • @dagodfather,

It is sometimes sad that with all our rich mineral sources as Africans, greed and corruption have set has this back and as such most people have lost hope in our own lands, strongly focusing on a land far away… It is not easy out on that land too, maybe even worse and who dare you to tell them… they will tag you as an enemy to their progress…
