Hiplife Music:- The Good Old Days + Old Videos Of Obrafour & Tic Tac

Obrafour

We’ve been listening to Hiplife music for some years now and GC is taking you back to the good old days.  How do you see the so-called modern Hiplife and that of the old days? Has it experienced any changes? In my opinion, some modern Hiplife songs seem so senseless and empty. Sometimes you don’t really know what they’re stammering about. Besides, the profanity is getting out of hand.

One thing that has also changed slightly is the music beat. Hiplife beat-makers in Ghana today are wonderful but i will still give credit to the old folks. They were using so much creativity in their work as compared to what we’ve been hearing these days (don’t you think so?).

Checkout these old videos by Obrafour—‘Yaanom’ (one of my best Hiplife artist of all time—dude is too much) and Tic Tac ‘Philomena’. These songs are far better than most of the modern ones.

1. Obrafour–Yaanom’

2. Tic Tac– ‘Philomena’

What the fuck koraa nia? What is this ‘hating, hating’ crap? We don’t want to hear ‘what it is’ anymore? assuming you’re a little older and know Ghana music, what is wrong with what Gambo typed aside from it been true? Like Sussy said, songs like that carried weight and social message. You wonder why Ghana is been riddle with immorality? It’s because the social commentators are no longer doing their job. Or not been allowed to do their job if you may. Ask yourself, where will Ghana Music be today if we continued along the lines of Adofo, Ampadu, KK Kaboobo, Okukuseku, to name a few. Those ‘secular’ singer’s were making gospel music praising God as well. The problem started when the industry got greedy and decided to ‘divide so they can conquer’. That’s when it all fell off and got bad.

PS: You use insults to highlight to a person that he/she’s always here insulting? what do you think they’ll learn from what you typed? I mean, c’mon. Sometimes, one just need to speak on it. A please believe, no one is hating on the make believe industry.
