Funny how both sexes accuse each other on their spending report. It is hard to fathom when it comes to humans and their struggle for money, but the question posed here is: Who spends money more recklessly? Men say women squander their money on unnecessary items and beauty products (recession-influenced shopping habit).
Women on the other hand want to refute this long held stereotype, by saying men spend much money on high tech gadgets, travel and luxury foods, clothes, restaurants and so on. Due to the current turbulent economy, nobody wants to take the blame?
Do men and women spend differently and if yes, which gender spends unnecessarily?

It’s difficult to say really…I live at home with both my brother and sister who are over 25 and to be honest they spend equally as friviously. Although thinkin of the other male members of the family I’m thinking it would appear they may spend more. Especially if they have a family and they want to be the one providing. The thing is when it comes to men spending the things they like cost more than the things women want to buy ( unless you want Christian Louboutins in every colour and shade with bag to match). Cars, high tech gadgets and the like cost more than the things I would indulge in…So yea it’s woman 1 men 0 lol 😉 Good topic i like it.

fact cannot be denied, obviously its women.I know a guy wouldn’t ‘mind wearing that same shirt to a gathering but ofcourse a woman would think about the fingers going to point at her.Women always have their needs:going to the salon, fixing the nails,taking care of the skin is important.
We cant run away from that, it needs to be done although ‘men ‘might call it “unnecessary”.Anyway that picture looks cool.

to believe that these men are talking. you misuse money on women only to get into our pants, and you have the nerve to open your mouth. taking us to the expensive bar and restuarant, buying new clothes to impress (btw: men clothes and shoes are more expensive than women) and decorating your room and bed to get ready for the big day. hahahaha..lol at men misuse women to get their box. Lisa, you know what they say if a man has the DOUGH. They say “if ain’t tricking if you got it” but if you think of it not all wealthy or men who has the cash are womanizer.
Take a look at the facebook founder for example. He’s young and was named the richer’s young entrepreneur (not entertainer) in the State by Forbes but you don’t see him tricking his money like most of the young rich men do. Somehow I kinda disagree with you about men stuff expensive than women. If you ask me I’ll say women spend more cash than men..lol…I ain’t saying that because I’m a guy, I am saying that because I’ve seen it with my own naked eyes..lol..
Well, let’s examine where the major spending goes. Overall, when it come to clothing both women and men are in the same range. Same for food and other luxury items. That’s a fair enough. One thing most women if not all top the list when it come’s to reckless spending is their hair..lol..just like someone said above. Do you know women spend about $80 to $110 on their hair at the hairdresser on weekly basis compare to what men spend at the barber shop? Unless the woman relative is an hairdresser she doesn’t have to spend much.
Sometimes that sexy hair don’t last until Thursday end for the one week hair done…hahaha…On top of that, some women has to do their pedicure and manicure every other WEEK. Yessss, every week…lol…or else she won’t go to the party with you…lol…(Lord have mercy on the men..lol..) Now, we the guys only spend about $16 on a full hair cut and that can last us for three to four weeks without cutting (maybe line up).
So, women tell me, who spend more cash when your significant pocket is hurting like a punching bag..hahahaaa.

I think its women also. With guys I notice they don’t have problem re-using expensive purchases for the next 3yrs but with us ladies we prefer that new-ness that’s why we are always on the lookout for “on sale” stuff at stores.

hahha nice topic, interesting comments..I agree with all the comments up there. but my own issue is that guys are so DEMANDING. they want their lady to look sexy, nice hair, nice nails, nice cloths, nice skin etc. Some even go to the extent to say that they want their woman with a cute face, small waste, big butt.lmao(trust me I’ve been and it’s so annoying)..So then we spend all the money we can so we can look good for our men..when your woman looks busted you wouldn’t want to be seen in public with hair not to talk of showing her off to ur guys. and when a woman looks and feels good she has confidence and feel proud to be around her man so that he can show her off..so all that money we spend on hair and cloths is for our men lol..some women wants to look good for just looking good sake but most women want to look good for their husband or boyfriend or attract attention from men..It’s all for the mens..Its all about them.lol

Since I took charge of my life (no parent taking care of me), I have not at any point in time had to my name more than 11 shoes. Anytime I buy a new one, I throw one away meaning one has to be off the road to get in a new one.
Since my life of dating, Every woman I have come across including the one I am with today have had more than 30 pair of shoes. Some even in their boxes, not used. How many legs have women? 2 legs yet almost all of them have countless shoes. What does this tell you about reckless spending? Do they need all these shoes? No, they are just spending unnecessarily.
Lets move from shoes to body. I run into the shower, take my shower and come out to use my old coco butter and then put on my jeans and shirt. Bingo, I am done.
Let the woman get into the bath room, she needs a make up remover, lip gloss remover (is there anything like that? ), eye lashes remover and all so. All these removed items will be fixed back on after the shower and they two sides (remove and fix) cost money to get them. Are these things essential or necessary ? No they are not so buying them makes the purchaser a reckless spender.
Do I need to go on? who spends recklessly …tell me…It is the gender of the commentator above me…
