  1. i officially deem these awards as pretty useless, how can juliet ibrahim be nominated for best actress for her performance in foreplay…HOW???
sinking sands is a great movie but its not eligible didnt it just come out
it should be winning awards next year and not this year.
it doesnt fall in the eligibility period.
such a big joke, they better back up next time
    congrats to everyone though

  5. what period are the awards supposed to be covering? shakira is quite an old movie and sinking sands is quite new. which period are we talking abt? again, i have to agree with maame that juliet ibrahim comes nowhere near this nomination. majid’s nomination shd have been for silent scandals since and not the beast. he was marvelous in that movie, but then he always gives his best in every role. socrates safo for adults only, and martha ampomah for kiss me if you can? are we glorifying the soft porn now by giving awards to actors/actresses and directors? they shd take a look at it again.

  6. How is juliet ibrahim nominated as a best actress and also in the same category as Akorfa? This girl doesnt even deserve to be nominated point blank period, and martha ankomah was nominated for that soft core porn movie, smh, only in Ghana? They better not give the best wardrobe award to samira yakubu, from what jackie and co have been wearing in the movies she doesnt deserve to win.

  7. i have jux a little problem with the category named ORIGINAL SONG.If original song for a movie means song originally made for the movie, then most of the nomies should not be there.i stil stand to b corrected.
And also GHANA CELEBRATES.COM SHOULD CHECK THE SPELLINGS OF THE NAMES ESPECIALY BISA (ITS NOT BIAS ITS ITS BISA)

  8. I am wondering if the planning committee did not consider the time the movies were released as it is done in the case of Ghana Music Awards. I watched a movie like Shakira around August 2009 but it was nominated.

How come “sinking sands” was  nominated while “6 hours to christmas” wasn´t as the two are very new movies?   As for the some of the nominations…..it is better not to comment!

  9. Loved that chelsea movie, lessons were great .Kofi Adjorlolo deserves an award. That old has really worked hard in the industry.Majid was good in the Beast movie except the story line was kinda fictitious.Anyway all the best to them all.

  11. how can jackies movies get only a nomination since there is this arguement that she gets many roles than anyone in the industry ? this is the confirmation that 80 percent of her movies are trash, again how can 4 PLAY a MOVIE they are RELOADING not yet to be OFFLOADING get that nomination cause on a more serious note that 4PLAY and its GAY and UNNECESARY ASPECTS in it does not call for that TOP SPOT. this is a FACT jackie cannot win any AWARD without the likes of LYDIA ,THE TWO YVONNES ,and any other big stars in a movie ,conclusion is JACKIE cannot be the good ACTRESS SHE IS BEEN BRAND.

      • @sei, is that not the truth you disturb our ears that there is none like jackie in GHANA yet not even 2 of her movies were nominated in her own backyard is it not strange.? not even the african collaboration i mean the joint GHANA , NIGERIA MOVIES and you call it hate ?you are funny sometimes try to come WITH terms with the REALITY.what do i need to be like jackie for?GOD never created me to be like JACKIE am who i am so take the thruth as it is. WHAT I SAID IS THE THRUTH WHICH SOME DIE HARD FANS OF JACKIE WILL NOT DISPUTE.

  12. Looking awesome Jackie. I love your beauty. I hope and pray you win and take the car cos u deserve it. I pray John , Majid and Yvonne win too. My best and greatest acts. God bless u all.

  13. is jackie going for an AUTO SHOW? just this week it was publish she has the CARS NO GHANAIAN ACTRESS HAS so WHAT DOES SHE NEED A CAR FOR ? besides her 4 PLAY GAY CUM SOFT PORN is TRASH so forget about jackie winnig unless they STEAL for HER .the best ACTRESS should go to ARKOFA OR LYDIA EVEN ,MARTHA IS FAR BETTER THAN JACKIE.

    Reply
      • @sei, some need the car too did you not read here on this site that jackie has got the swag and cars her colleagues dont have? ,what does she need all that for?is it not GREEDY ? i wish Akorfa or any best actress there wins not jackie because she is definately NOT the BEST.

        Reply
        • @Afua, yes she has alot of cars. but we r not looking at that criteria to award the car. we r looking at the best actress. it doesnt matter if she has got thousands of such cars. the bottomline is she deserves it and she will def get it whether she has cars already or not. understand that.

      • @sei, you call jackie a best actress ?lydia is the best forget about who comes first thing .you continue dreamig unless there is propaganda because i dont see any movie jackie has that makes sense EXCEPT PERFECT PICTURE WITH TE HELP F LYDIA, ADJETEY WHO ROCKED THAT MOVIE

  14. I do hope the nominating committee explains the basis for these nominations. What is the time-frame being considered. Plus I believe Nadia Buari was the lead actress in “Checkmate” and Adjetey Annang was the lead actor in “A Sting in a Tail”, so how come they are nominated in the supporting actress/actor categories? Are these just errors or were the credits in the respective movies all wrong? I own these movies and the credits say they are the lead actors.

  15. how can juliet be nominated for best actress while nadia and yvonne nelson are on the suporting list and eddie nartey and majid are not great actors yet John dumelo and kofi adjorlolo are on suporting list. Plus the local movies where is akua ataa on the lead actress. the whole list is bullshit. i dont like abdul salaam but where is he on the director list?

    Reply
    • @Sarah,sarah,u dont even know shit abt movies n ur here blabbing gibberish! who told u abdul salam is a director?if u watched all the movies being nominated or know about movies and the roles actors play in them,u would know the difference between a lead role and a supporting role, dumb asses. check mate lead character was senanu not nadia.nadia, khareema, naa ashokor, ekow blankson were all supporting cus the story is based on senanu not them.dummies.before commentin shit on here i advice ya’ll go n learn about movies!

  18. its quite amazing how come a movie that has barely been seen by a thousand people has been nominated. How many people have seen Sinking sands, apart from the few who were at the premiere.
The movie may be a good movie, but since it hasn’t been released i don’t think it should be nominated. How will they feel if it wins the category and no one has seen the movie. i wonder how they’ll select winners.
If this is the first time, i think it should not be corrupted. they should make it clean and fair. I don’t think the organizers want people to think there’s some corruption going on. This awards should be free and fair, not like previous questionable awards in Ghana.

  19. Why is Juliet Ibrahim on this list??? Why is Sinking Sands be added to 2010 list when it just got premiered and not everyone has seen it?? How can Eddie Nartey be nominated for leading role in Kiss Me If You Can……? Kobbi Ranna had more parts in the movie than Eddie Nartey. What is really going with Ghana movie awards committee?? How can Nadia Buari be nominated for supporting role in Checkmate when she was cast as the leading role alongside Senanu. I don’t understand how this work at all.

#21. Best Actor / West Africa Collaboration – why is Desmond Elliot nominated for Guilty Pleasures? Desmond is a good actor but not to be nominated for his part in Guilty Pleasures. I think Muna Obekwie should have been nominated for Men In Love or Jim Iyke for Twised Fate, Heal My Soul, Treasure Hunt or Stolen Will. Mike Ezuronye for The Last Baron or even Nonso Diobe for Pride of a Princess.

  20. This list is just crap.. Has anyone seen Chelsea?or Trinity? so why is Nadia not in the best actress in a lead category…pls this is a joke, she deserves that nomination than some so called hyped sisters of hers who do nothing but just dress like they’re going for hallowen night out. Compare her in Chelsea and jaCKIE in in who loves me ,is clear jackie cnt act to save her ass. Lets be objective.
