Affairs With Married People: Where Does The Majority Of The Blame Lie?

blank

If you are a UK resident who follows the news intently, or even a Twitter user anywhere in the world, then I am sure you would have by now come across the revelation that Manchester United’s midfielder Ryan Giggs was the infamous footballer who took out a £50,000 injunction, to prevent being unveiled as the “family man” who had a 6-month long affair with former Big Brother contestant, Imogen Thomas.

A couple of days back I was reading a magazine interview with Imogen’s older sister, when she was asked whether she felt disappointed in her sister; her answer not only made me angry but shake my head in disgust at how ignorant some women can be.

Not only did she answer that she was disappointed in Ryan Giggs as opposed to her sister, but she was also adamant in her belief that her sister had done nothing wrong by having an affair with a married man for six months because (in her own words); “…he should have known better. He’s the one with responsibilities” (sic).

Love & Relationship: I Need Your Readers’ Advice Please! My Girl Friend Has Stolen My Six Thousand Pounds & She Says She Is Sorry, Should I Continue The Relationship?

blank

Dear GC,

I’ve been with my girlfriend for almost four years now and I’m thinking of ending it all after she betrayed me. I’ve always trusted her in all ways and never expected that she could ever steal from me.

I’d been saving money to pay for my professional exams. Even though she couldn’t help me financially she has always been encouraging and supportive with me trying to improve my chances at a better job. In fact she is the one who helped me research and find the best course.

I had saved almost six thousand pounds in total and was due to enrol next month only to find that my savings account had almost been cleared! After numerous calls and investigations, video footage showed a man who was able to produce my I.d and had access almost all the money. I have not used my drivers licence in a while so didn’t even notice that it had gone missing.

My girlfriend appeared sympathetic but I noticed she seemed shifty and unsettled every time I bought it up. I started checking her phone and e-mails after she slipped up on info that I hadn’t even told her regarding the stolen money.

Paedae of R2Bees and Lazzy of VIP
Paedae of R2Bees and Lazzy of VIP

VIP, 4X4, Sarkodie, Castro, Guru, Ruff N Smooth, R2Bees, D-Cryme, Stay Jay and Efya are Ghanaian artistes who are ready to meet 2Face, Wande Coal, 9ice and J Martins from Nigeria in a musical showdown. The artistes above are ready to meet and share one stage to give patrons a feel of both countries.

However, one of the members of the Tema based rap duo R2Bees, Paedae has jokingly accused the Nigerian counterparts of copying the Ghanaian style in their music. The chap revealed this at the birth of a new musical showdown dubbed ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ to be staged on July 1, 2011.

Present at the press conference was Nigerian artistes 9ice and J Martins, the voices behind Gongo Aso and Cool Your Temper respectively. From Ghana was Lazzy, Coded [Abortion] and Paedae who both represented their various groups, VIP, 4X4 and R2Bees. Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie was also present.

When Ghana and Nigeria is mentioned; sports preferably there is this sort of rivalry that pops up as both sides strives to be the best. In terms of movies and music, both countries are far ahead of the rest on the African continent.

The argument as to which country has copied from the other country so far as doing movies and music is concerned has always been on the lips of followers of both nations. The blame of who has copied from the other is not ending anytime soon.

Founder of the Ghana Movie Awards, Fred Nuamah of Gollywood Production Limited, has denied allegations levelled against him and the French Embassy in Ghana by actress Juliet Ibrahim, a member of the Ghanaian delegation to this year’s Cannes Film Festival held in France.

An interview granted the actress on Peace FM on May 19, 2011, and subsequently published in the Chronicle newspaper on May 21, 2011, seemed to suggest that organisers of the Ghana Movie Awards and the French Embassy did not live up to their promises made to Ghana’s delegation to the Cannes film festival.

According to the founder, the French Embassy promised to help the delegation acquire visas, which it honoured, adding “the embassy did not promise the delegation any help on arriving at Cannes”.

Interview: SYN! New Ghanaian Artiste Blames Ghanaian Musicians “They Don’t Study”!

blank
SYN

The Ghanaian Music Industry is blessed with Africa’s most brilliant song writers. One of the newest gifted writers to grace the music scene and ready for mainstream success is a young man known as SYN, born and christened Safwan Alhassan, a twenty something year old graduate of Central University.

The young song writer has labeled Ghanaian musicians as people who don’t want to learn. He also accuses Ghanaian music as being too narrow and chastised musicians for limiting Ghana music to mainstream African boundaries, when it can cross to the world market.

Like many others, SYN discovered his singing abilities at a tender age. Trying to sound different in respect to the genre of music he does. He said: “I can’t specify the genre of music I do but I get my inspiration from any kind of music, any kind of tune, any kind of story I want to tell, I tell in a particular genre and I leave the audience to judge what kind of genre the music is”.

SYN is a Human Resource Management graduate from Central University but wants to pursue music to the fullest. The enthusiastic and dedicated artist is currently in  music school studying music intimately and learning how to play some musical instruments, with his preferences on the guitar.

GC Exclusive: Nadia Buari & Abdul Salam Mumuni Speak On Cannes Red Carpet Saga + John Dumelo Talks About The Whole Cannes Arrangement…

Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others On Red Carpet, Cannes
Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others On Red Carpet, Cannes

After yesterday’s post titled ‘Ghanaian Celebrities Were Not Recognised At Cannes Film Festival & Therefore No Red Carpet For Them, It Was All Lies…’  which highlighted on certain issues raised by Actress ‘Juliet Ibrahim’ with the visit our celebrities made to the recently ended Cannes Films Festival ( especially the Red Carpet Saga), I decided to contact the various Ghanaians who were in the red carpet photos to hear their side of the story.

In the photos (as seen above) were Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, Fred Nuamah, Alhaji Abdul Salam and Susan Peters. Automatically, I crossed out Mr. Fred Nuamah. As the Organizer of the trip and the person placed at the centre of these allegations; I was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that, he would definitely cook for me some sweet story to ‘exonerate’ himself.

I reached out to Nadia Buari with two principal questions in mind. Was there a real (not fake) red carpet and how did the whole red carpet walk come about since Juliet Ibrahim who was part of the delegation to France has stated inter alia that, the red carpet walk is extremely questionable.

Nadia Buari who was on set shooting a movie gave a good reception for the second time to GhanaCelebrities.Com. Trust me, I had prepared my screaming voice and was ready to scream if she had given me a shout. LOL.

On the issue of the red carpet walk at Cannes, Nadia emphatically stated that, it was a real red carpet and they actually did walk on it. Do you think this will be enough for me? I then asked, why then is Juliet Ibrahim, who was part of the delegation to France seems to suggest that the whole red carpet walk is a dust you guys are trying to throw at us.

Ghanaian Celebrities Were Not Recognised At Cannes Film Festival & Therefore No Red Carpet For Them, It Was All Lies…

Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others At Cannes
Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others At Cannes

Somewhere last week, I had a long separate chit chats via phone with Actress Juliet Ibrahim and Mr Fred Numah (Founder/CEO of Ghana Movie Awards) when they were in France for the Cannes Film Festival.

During our conversation, Juliet Ibrahim who could not believe a false story that was published on our celebrities having been on a red carpet at Cannes expressed her dissatisfaction and shock about the entire Ghanaian- Cannes visit arrangement.

From what I gathered from my convo with Juliet Ibrahim as to what was really going on at Cannes as far as our celebrities were concerned , it seemed our stars namely Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro,  Majid Michel, John Dumelo and others who were sponsored by the Ghana Movie Awards to the film festival had nothing scheduled for them out there.

They cheaply jumped on planes and went there to walk about as tourists or persons who had come to see the Hollywood stars… Even tourists have aims for visiting places, our celebrities were purely aimless.

It was therefore a big shock to Juliet Ibrahim to have read that, some Ghanaian celebrities out there in Cannes had graced the red carpet. Apart from the issue of red carpet, Juliet Ibrahim also pointed out that, she was not pleased with the way things were arranged for them.  There was no hotel rooms reserved for them and they did not have any planned means of transport.  Our stars jumped in and out of trains and taxis as if they were ‘I and I’…

Readers’ Comment: Are Our Ghanaian Celebrities Really Worthless & Unrecongnised Outside Ghana Especially In The UK And USA…

Nadia Buari At Cannes Film Festival
Nadia Buari At Cannes Film Festival

I have been told several times that, our Ghanaian celebrated individuals are just ‘what we think they are’ (stars) only in Ghana and no where else. Any claim of recognition or stardom by these celebritites outside Ghana is therefore fraud and amounts to a simple attempt to enhance their own EGO.

Recently, our celebrities made it to Cannes Film Festival and many are of the view that, they went there as ‘I and I’ tourists and nothing more than that. I have met various people outside Ghana who did not even know we have ‘Celebrities’ in Ghana.  I was once asked; Do you really blog on Ghanaian Celebrities? What do these people do? Are they like the Lady Gaga and the Denzel Washingtons?

Most times, I have just tagged such individuals as persons with little or no knowledge outside the world they live in. However, If i know their Beyonce, Why don’t they know my Becca? Scratch that, this is a pretty stupid analogy!

A reader of GC posted  a comment (below) which suggest that, eventhough she has for some reason found her way unto GhanaCelebrities.Com, she still thinks our stars are ‘chicken heads’ outside Ghana especially in the United States.  According the comment, no one knows these so called Ghanaian celebrities nor gives a shyt about them out there-they are not giving any recognition anywhere outside Ghana. They are therefor pretty useless outside Ghana…
