As National Youth Ambassador for the fight against Malaria, Miss Ama Nettey has been actively involved in a series of Malaria campaigns including the MTN 21 days of Y’llo Carea charity proramme that saw her visiting many deprived communities in Ghana to provide social care.

Currently Ama is managing a project for the residents of the Weija Leprosarium where she has plans of renovating their old structure and donating assorted products to them as well.The first part of this plan was executed on Monday July 25, 2011 when she donated to the residents of the Weija Leprosarium.

Her first visit to Weija Leprosarium was during the Miss Malaika Ghana 2010 competition, which they cooked and raised funds for the residents.  She observed that they were badly in need.  She then had a burden on her heart to raise awareness on the disease (leprosy) and make an impact on the lives of people who suffered from it.

“I know Weija leprosarium needs a lot of help. The building that presently houses the residents is in a very bad state and is at the verge of collapsing. I want to use this opportunity to encourage organizations especially the construction companies to support father Campbell and lepers Aid committee, so that our relatives here can have a better home. We must bear in mind that they are human just like us and they deserve better”. Miss Nettey donated assorted items worth Ghc 15000.000 and in the presence of the Media she cheerfully presented the items to them.

The items included mattresses, water, provisions, Television sets, Poly tank and many more were obtained with support from Latex foam, POLYTANK GH, Voltic Water, Yazz, Samsung, Uniliver, Nestle Ghana Ltd, Leyland and Leylac paints, Shoprite and K’naf Couture among others.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the annual Miss Malaika Ghana Beauty pageant are giving a life time opportunity to young, bold, beautiful and intelligent ladies to register and be part of the 2011 audition process by texting their names to short code 1757 across network.

The audition is slated for Saturday 6th August 2011 at the Ultra-Modern Studios of Gh –One located in Accra, near RANA motors on the main STC yard road. The successful candidates who would make it to the top after the semifinal stage would step into a new world of fantasy, fame and fortune.
