Treat Us Like Celebrities…What About Behave Like Celebrities?

blank

One of the many reasons why I founded GhanaCelebrities.Com is to help celebrate those in the limelight alongside using the platform to showcase their talents… Do not get it twisted, it does not rain everyday, when these stars meant to be celebrated find themselves in the wrong pit, we give it to them on here accordingly…

I cannot count the number of times people have asked me, why do you sometime result to bashing these Ghanaian celebrities if indeed the intention and purpose of your site is to mainly celebrate them? The answer I have always given is simple, GhanaCelebrities.Com was created to be used both as a shield and a sword…(Defend and celebrate the good works of our stars and also bash and bring to light the dirty works of these same stars).

The reason behind this post is to react to an interview Ghanaian celebrities-Roselyn Ngissah and Beverly Afaglo granted newsone recently…The two stars mentioned that Ghanaians back home do not know how to treat celebrities and DEMANDED to be treated as celebrities…

Roslyn Ngissah told Newsone that,  “You know someone sees you and goes like…if the person wants to say hi, then the person goes like oh it is her, it is not her.

But when we meet people who have travelled abroad and come back, when they meet us they are like ‘oh I want an autograph’ because they understand how to celebrate stars over there. It is not yet here but we are gradually getting there.
However there was a time I went a primary school and the children there were like they want autograph and I was surprised. Treat us like a celebrity and the celebrities that we are. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Roselyn continued “Sometimes when you go to the bank, they will make you join a long queue, they don’t want to care.

But there was this other bank I went to and a lady gave me chance. I am not saying treat me like a god. Sometimes there are people who have been in the bank for hours…somebody when they even see you they even get angry (sic).

For me, I have had too many experiences when it comes to people and how they celebrate stars. But I think we are getting there,”

Beverly also added that ” even though she had not done many movies in Nigeria, as compared to Ghana, she got a lot of attention anytime she entered the Nollywood country”.

At the end of it all, the two stars called on Ghanaians to celebrate the stars and treat them as celebrities…CLAP CLAP CLAP!

Now what about these celebrities checking themselves…Have then asked themselves if they are behaving like celebrities to be accordingly treated as such? You do not demand to be treated a certain way in life, you earn it…

If you have no regard for your fans, the media and the public at large, how do you expect them to treat you like Queens and Kings?

Dealing with some of these celebrities is sickening, I think my lil cousin at the primary school even has value for herself and her work than majority of these celebrities… Their public relations and how they react to issues concerning them SUCKS! It makes me wanna throw up sometimes…

You know what, you get what you deserve in life especially when it comes to how you want to be treated…Your behaviour and outlook dictate the way and manner people will treat you.

So instead of our Ghanaian Celebrities going about DEMANDING to be treated as celebrities in Ghana, what about evaluating themselves and starting to BEHAVE like celebrities?

After all, Newton’s third law of motion says, the mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear. (Action and reaction are the same but opposite)…

You behave like a BIN, you get treated like a TRASH! PERIOD…

    • @maame, These 2 haven’t starred in any movie. Not to discredit what they’ve done, but there practically nobodies in Gollywood. They need to chill out. I guarantee you Jackie, Nadia, Both Yvonne’s wouldn’t say this, because they’ve put in work. These 2 are always on the sideline. Expecially Beverly, theres no excuse for you. If you where so great Shirley or Leila would of gave you a call by now. You people need to step it up instead of crying to be labeled celebrities, as if everyone wants an autograph from you. I guarantee if you come to Canada/Toronto, nobody would want none of your autographs LMAO.

  2. wow…!!!! But in the West it’s the same celebs do stay in line also at the bank, grocery store and so on. They are just like you and me. However, there are some very few Western celebs who are been treated with respect simple due to their work in their community and charity work around the World. These people also do respect back to fans.

What’s wrong with people are not sure if it’s you or not you they are seeing on the streets?!?!?!
Juliet is cool and her self, I like thats.
Get some good charity work done and we’ll celeb you. 😉

      • @Akosua,
in order to be a celebrity u have to have something worth celebrating,if ur talent or work output isnt worth celebrating then u cant be a celebrity. And since most of them arent really impressing i cant see how i will give them celebrity attention. Me for instance if i saw Rihanna i wont fuss about her as much as i would say Mariah Carey or Adele or Alicia Keys. Cos in my books her talents are not worth celebrating, (sicne she is neither a good singer, dancer nor performer) The same formula applies to my GH stars

and one thing is ghanains are different from americans .

  7. So what the hell are these so called celebrities trying to imply? they do not have to queue when they go to the bank? If they think indeed they are celebs, they should get assistants to go to the banks and do the queuing for them. nonsenses

  11. How old are u in the movie industry that u want ghanaians to kneel when u are coming better watch urselves, ask Genevieve how long it took her to reach that stage u are demanding. In the banks that u dont want to queue have u ask urself whether some people even know u, dear friends upgrade urselves and stop this celebrity thing because u are not yet celebrities.

    • These girls should take a second look at themselves, what on earth have they done to be celebrated. This should simply tell them that they have a lot to do to improve on the talent God has given them!

  15. Lmao, this is really funny…. All I can say is – Like the article title suggests, Behave like celebrities.. They have to bare in mind that their fans look up to them, as in ‘role models’… Speaking of fans, they hardly connect with thier fans…. These western celebrities their comparing themselves to go the extra mile to return the love their fans give to them….. If they also start to appreciate us, who knows….. someone could freely allow Roselyn to cross a line anything she visits the bank….

  16. Ok seriously whether you are a Hollywood, Ghollywood or Nollywood star you’re still a human just like the next person. I mean seriously what defines a celebrity? A god-like creature that should be praised have the ground they walk on kissed? Heck no! And how are we supposed to treat them? Don’t they eat through their mouths like the rest of us? They surely piss and take dumps like the rest of us so what makes them different? Just cuz you’re an actor, singer, or business extraordinaire, and have money doesn’t mean your biological structure is different from mine. I don’t care whether you are a Hollywood star like Oprah, or someone like Roselyn but don’t expect to be treated like you are all high and mighty. People will naturally respect and admire you if they like who you are or represent to them, but don’t get your panties in a bunch if no one likes your work and therefore doesn’t kiss the ground you walk on. But i blame it all on society. Don’t get me wrong i like some celebrities and respect them only if you deserve it. Nuff said!

I guess not even up to 1000ppl know them, yet they called themselves celebrities. Roselyn, u know, not that few GH cedis u would be withdrawing frm da bank, that ppl should allow u pass by them n nt join the queue. I believe u guys wanted as 2 hear some prank cos I cnt believe u r actually say these.

  21. ok i dnt think its that serious…i think we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt…we praise foreign stars than our own…whn genevieve and other nigerian stars come to ghana, we praise them like no other….beverly and roselyn might not be doing alot for the community, but we can actually be proud of them…if not for anything, for the fact that they appear on our screens to entertain us…its just nice…we can actually encourage these stars whn we see them on the street (THAT’S IF U LIKE THEM)…if gives them the hype to do more…because now they know that someone is watching them and liking what they do…so it doesn’t call for an insult…let’s be proud of our own…even nigeria respects their bottomless celebrity and would do all they can to put them on the map for the whole world to know…so let’s at least acknowledge them…WE LIKE INSULTS TOOOOOOOOO MUCH AAAAH
