Miss France who participated in the Miss Universe competition and lost it all to the newly crowned Miss Universe -Leila Lopes is not pleased with the fact that someone from Angola was the winner.
Miss France seems to suggest in a recent comment that, Leila Lopes from Angola won the crown based on the fact that the competition was held in Brazil. (Remember both Brazil and Angola are former Portuguese colonies)..
This is what Miss France told French Magazine ‘Premiere’ about Miss Angola-Leila Lopes win …“She was the only girl I didn’t know very well. We didn’t see her much; she was very discreet. She was often in jeans and not wearing makeup. We were all surprised by her win. Many girls made efforts that were not rewarded. I don’t know, something is missing in her temperament. The fact that the competition was held in Brazil surely played a role.”

So effing what? Gosh some people are so vain and ignorant. When will people learn that beauty is more than just what’s on the outisde? And when will others learn that Africans can be contenders and ought to be taken seriously? Jealousy and ignorance at it’s finest that is what this is. And hello the panel of judges were not not all Portuguese, Angolan, and Brazilians, they were representatives of various countries. So any claims that because the pageant was held in Brazil and that’s why a Portuguese speaking contestant won is absolutely rubbish. And it’s not her fault that she received a question which she answered perfectly is it? This is why we Africans but stand as a unit and support all our people in their endeavours because we always receive backlash for our successes. Miss Angola just needs to enjoy her glory…and us too!
