Praye’s Cock & Bull Story: Why Can’t Ghanaian Musicians Work Together?

Praye

Sometimes I wonder why Ghanaian musicians cannot work together. The news of Hip Life trio Praye’s break-up came as a surprise to many, myself included because I have been a staunch follower of them.
When it comes to the number of hits any group has had over the years since the introduction of Hip Life, aside Buk Bak and VIP, the next group that comes in mind with so many hit songs are Praye, made up of Praye Tenten, Praye Ho Ne Ho and Praye Tiatia; real names real name Nana Adu Koranteng, Eugene Baah and Steven Fiawoo.
After several months of the break up, Praye Tenten has come up to speak on the break up. In doing so he denied all the allegations levelled against him by former mates, that he has grown wings hence the reason why he went solo.
He told Graphic Showbiz that, Eugene, the leader of the group told him, he didn’t want to see him around the group again because of a supposed issue. It is not clear whether the issue has to be with their normal girls-chasing-spree or whether it has to do with money sharing.
He said “I feel very bad that the two are treating me this way. The three of us have suffered in bringing up the group this far and I don’t think this is what I deserve after my contribution to the group”.
Explaining what happened. He said someone insulted their leader [Eguene], after which he and Eugene went to deal with the fellow. He continued that later he was asked to apologise and after his apology, the same Eugene told him he can’t be part of the group again. How possible? Read more.
Eugene on the other hand denies the allegation with “I don’t know why he keeps saying I kicked him out of the group, I never did that and will never do that, we are a group who were doing so well so why would I do such a thing” Eugene explained.
Seriously what’s the logic in this? When Nigerian acts always get hits upon hits and take big money to perform in Ghana, what the Ghanaian artistes will do is to fight themselves huh? How pathetic, but seriously why can’t Ghanaian artistes work together?

  1. I hate to say this but ‘Praye’ is incomplete without Tenten or Eugene himself. They have to settle the issue at hand and stop this nk)laa story. I love praye to bits. ‘Angelina’ is still one of my all time favorites, so is ‘I & my shordy are one’. I just love them, they have got to put themselves together. Once a group, always a group….They need each other

  2. Oh my goodness. I adore you guys. Praye is made up lots of broomsticks to make up one broom. They come together to work as a group which represents unity. If any group should be broken apart, it shouldnt be praye tenten.

  3. he says this, the other says that and nobody is readi to say wht the real issue is.i don ‘t think for a second that a group leader can jst call a group member and say dat he should stay off the group cos the group leader didn’t recruit anyone.Praye Tenten has become very arrogant lately and i’m not surprised he wants to go solo……he’ll fail like the way Wutah Kobby is struggling.

    • @Opanin, are u also a member of the group? how did u know Praye Tenten has become very arrogant? they say if u are advising the mouse do advise the meat also, Eugene must know that if he is the leader of the group that doesn’t mean he is the owner of the group. U can’t be a leader without people to lead the same way there can’t be a group without a leader so both of them should know better.

      • @Tilly, three ppl come together to form a group. one is chosen as the leader.does this mean that the leader is the owner of the group??? the statement frm Praye Tintin is baseless.Eugene cannot kick him out of the group bcos Eugene did not recruit him in the first place. each member of the group has equal stake in the group.
exiting the group can only be based on personal choice but not on the instance of anoda member. i have watched praye tintin lately on interviews and stuff and i can tell u he’s a different person frm the one we say on the Nescafe show. u don’t need a soothsayer to tell u someone is arrogant do u????

  4. i love praye very much, they’r my favourite of all time but i think Ghanaians should understand somtin here.somtymz celebrities dont like sayin everything to the public cos maybe it myt betoo dirty. They are in the fire n know how its burning them so stop judgin them n pushin them to the wall that they stay together. If they know they cant be apart and make it,they wont even think abt it.As for me i dnt even like that praye tintin,he’s dirty n looks rowdy and i dnt think he adds anything to their music with dat fake rap.If we decide to name best 50 GH rappers kraaa,i dont think he’ll be remembered.Lmaooooo.
