‘The Big Six for Peaceful, Free & Fair Elections Tour’: D-Black, Sarkodie, Edem, Kwaw Kese, Dr Cryme & EL!

Prestigious Ghanaian based Events and Marketing firm Black Avenue Works  are all set to roll out the 10 – city nationwide music tour festival dubbed ‘THE BIG SIX TOUR’ in September this year under the theme ‘The Big Six for Peaceful, Free & Fair Elections’.
The Big Six were leaders of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) in the 1940’s and fought vigorously for the attainment of Ghanaian independence. The Big Six represent the historic struggle for Ghanaian Independence and are pictured on the front of Ghana cedi notes.
On this tour, six of Ghana’s most commercially successful hiphop & hiplife acts will represent the Big Six by performing live in concert in 10 selected cities in Ghana.
This nationwide tour would be geared towards preaching and promoting to the youth the essence of voting and ensuring a peaceful electoral process come December 2012’s Presidential elections via musical concerts and symposia.
Six artists have been slated to headline this soon to be historic music tour from September to November this year. These artists represent various clans and tribes, make music in various dialects but are all Ghanaian by blood and birth.

D-Black

D-Black, who belongs to two tribes Ga / Akuapem is Ghana’s premiere Anglophone hiphop act. Winner of ‘Hiphop Song of the Year’ at the last GMA’s and  Ghana’s 2011 BET Award nominee for ‘Best African Act’ in America amongst other numerous award wins and nominations is the first act slated for the Big Six Tour.
With a successful nationwide tour ‘The Yes Boss Tour’ last year and numerous hiphop hits under his belt stemming from the award winning ‘Somebody’ and ‘Get On Da Dance Floor’ to his new hits, ‘My Kinda’ Girl ft. Sarkodie, ‘Setewaa’ and ‘Change Your’ Life ft. E.L, the English language rapping D-Black is guaranteed to rock hard on this tour with his highly anticipated upcoming album ‘The Revelation’ set for a September release date. He is also nominated at this year’s VGMA’s for ‘Hiphop Song of the Year’ and ‘Music Video of the Year’.

Sarkodie

He is undoubtedly Ghana’s fastest rapper, 2010 Ghana Music Award ‘Artist Of The Year’ and topping this year’s Ghana Music Awards nominations with 11 nods including ‘Artist Of The Year’, Sarkodie is the second act on the ‘BIG SIX TOUR’ and is definitely set to get the azonto groove going on this tour with his hugely popular ‘You Go Kill Me’ plus other hits off his December 25 ‘Rapperholic’ album like ‘Dangerous’ ft. EL, ‘Onyame Ahyira’ ft. Castro, ‘I’m In Love With You’ ft. Efya and more. The young musician who raps in Twi just ended his Tour of the U.K and its guaranteed the Ashanti native will bring down the house in all 10 cities.

Edem

The Volta Regions most prized musician Edem formerly known as Ayigbe Edem who released his 2nd Album off his ‘Volta Regime Music Group record label has currently one of the country’s most popular songs ‘Over again’ in the back of his pocket. The versatile Ewe rapper who rose to fame in 2010 with his debut album is back with a bang and is nominated at this year’s Ghana Music Awards in numerous categories including reggae song of the year and hiphop song of the year. An excellent performer he is and with his ‘Mass Production’ Album in stores now he is the third member of the BIG SIX Tour.

Kwaw Kese

The man insane from Swedru and Fante tribe native, Mr. Abodam a.k.a Kwaw Kese is the BIG SIX TOUR’s fourth act and 2008 Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year sweeping 6 awards on that night. The VGMA 2012 Artist of the Year nominee with his huge personality and club banger songs will surely get this tour ‘Popping’. The Fante rapper’s Untold Stories Album see’s excellent songs including his collaboration with D-Black and Sarkodie on ‘Conference Call’ and ‘No More’ with Stonebwouy.

Dr Cryme

Dr. Cryme , the ladies man with the double edged sword singing and rapping in twi and pidgin infected the ladies with his huge record ‘Kill Me Shy’ last year following up with Mene Woa and Ma Me Fans off his ‘Finally Finally’ Album released last year is our fifth act on the BIG SIX TOUR. Snagging 5 nominations at this year VGMA’s including discovery of the year, the young crooner / rapper who hails from Akwatia in the Eastern region is surely going to get the ladies on their feet throughout the tour.

EL

The multi talented rapper, singer, producer E.L is our final act for the BIG SIX TOUR and has produced for almost every artist on this tour. With his own catalogue of recent hits including Obuu Mo, One Ghana for Your Pocket and more , he is nominated as Best Rapper of the Year and Discovery of the Year at the 2012 VGMA’s. Belonging to the Ewe tribe but raps mainly in pidgin and English, E.L who features as a singer on Sarkodie’s You Go Kill Me and D-Black’s Change Your Life is an incredible talent.
Catch D-Black, Sarkodie, Edem, Kwaw Kese, Dr. Cryme and E.L on the Explosive ‘BIG SIX TOUR’ from September to November this year in Accra, Tamale, Kumasi, Ho, Bolgatanga, Tema, Wa, Sunyani, Takoradi and Tarkwa. The official tour dates and venues for THE BIG SIX TOUR will be announced in the coming months.

  2. Paul fool count n see if the artistes u have mentioned are 6 in number.LOL. You said like 11 artistes.But the one for me to be replaced should be Kwaw Kese and put Guru instead! LAPAZ Totota!
