blank
Getting attention from any esteemed Hollywood magazine or newspaper from overseas is non-existing…It hardly happens since those within the Hollywood industry are always in fearless competing themselves for those huge publicity.
Despite the difficulty or non-existence of any oversea talent to grab hot spots in Hollywood Magazines, Ghanaian star Actress Jackie Appiah has managed to find herself in the prestigeous  Hollywood Weekly Magazine alongside Nigerian Actors-Desmond Elliott, Monalisa Chinda and Joseph Benjamin.
Hollywood Weekly Magazine  is located on the iconic Sunset Gower Studios lot in Hollywood and you know what that mean, they have all the inside Hollywood connections and the  best industry stories.
The cover profile of Jackie Appiah and the others is already on Hollywood Weekly’s website and will be published on Apple’s iPad and iPhone over the weekend.
This is what I always say, you do not have to go chasing Hollywood because you will definitely get lost in there. All you have to do is do your best wherever you find yourself and Hollywood will come looking for you…
Congrats to Jackie Appiah and the others!

  1. Formula: natural talent + hardwork = success. She deserves every bit of success which is coming her way. @ Cheryl if I remember corrected some of the best actors in hollywood are not known for their fashion sense eg.Meryl Streep,Jhonny Deep instead their are renowned, loved n respect ed for wat they bring to the table.Same in Jackie Appiah’s case.Piece of advice, take it n shove it up that thing u call a brain, stop hating. Its ppl like u that contribute nothing to society yet just strive to keep others down.

  2. and?!?!…. Chris I feel like your last comment was directed to Nadia. I think we should stop this comparing of them two and just let them be!!! FYI…. sometimes chasing your dream CAN also be a good thing!

    • No my last comment is not to Nadia Buari but to all the Actors and Actresses who keep saying I want to go to Hollywood day in and out. No matter where you are, you can work hard and shine and then Hollywood can come for you. That way, you have nothing to loose because you will be brightening at your corner and Hollywood will spot you.
What I fear for the Hollywood wanna-goers is that, they may loose what they have at home and not be able to achieve the Hollywood DESPERATION too. And then what? Remember, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush…

          • @Goldengurl, exactly! I love Jackie, Nadia all the Ghanaian stars.  Each have something unique and different to offer – let’s celebrate them all not bash them!

  3. to my dear ignorant Chris. at the ongoing Cannes film festival, you can buy a cover for 5000 dollars to advertise yourself. E4pr bought it for them.

    • Even if they bought it,they were worth being sold it to, before they were allowed to purchased it. Let me give you an example, I charge to write about movies, yet I do not take every movie and write about because they are ready to pay me…I know perfectly how Magazines work, I do not think they paid for it, even if they paid for it, the Editor of the Magazine is not only looking for money but also has an audience to feed with the best. So until you are worth it, they will not feature you.
I get some many ‘wanna be’ Actors and Actresses and Musicians ready to pay me to write about them or their music on GC. Do you think I go and take the money and write about them ALL? No, I care about my audience and only will accept those I feel my readers will appreciate or love to read about them, those I believe ln my judgement as an Editor are worth it and have something extraordinary!

  4. I really don’t see dis is a big deal because I learnt Jackie Appiah was the only Ghanaian actress who went there. So in effect if anyone else was there he/she would have appeared on the front page of dis magazine. Its really nothing to be happy about!

    • @TheChuckylee,  i want to guess you are from Ghana as I see you here a lot. If a Nigerian had made the same comment you just made you would be cussing and defending the very little fame your ppl represent abroad, yet here you are putting your own down!

      • @Goldengurl, U got it all wrong.I love Jackie too and I’m happy 4 her but from the information I got she was the only one who represented Ghana & so it was just automatic dat she’ll be the only one from Ghana who’ll appear on the magazine’s frontpage.I dnt think Desmond & Monalisa are the best from Nigeria yet they’re here by virtue of their presence @ the event.I just wanted to correct the erroneous impression dat she did something extraordinary to appear on the magazine’s frontpage from the info I got.If I was an actor & I went to the event I wld have also appeared here. If the info is wrong then I’m wrong too.Dis has got nothing to do with patriotism, just stating the facts I know.Nonetheless I love Jackie.

        • @Goldengurl,the only person guilty of what you accuse  is the owner /chief editor of this
website. There is a lot of favoritism on here and it is disgustingly so;  wrongs of others are seen and criticized DESTRUCTIVELY whilst  his vision is impaired with other faults;completely blindsided,so blame Adjepong-Febiri…He is the chief  @”Pull him Down”
I mean don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism but DESTRUCTIVE criticism is wrong on all grounds. The favoritism makes me sick !!!
