Big Brother Stargame: Zainab Upgrades To Upville As Dalphin, Yadel And Luke Head Home!

Dalphin, Yadel and Luke’s participation in Big Brother StarGame came to an end on Sunday (20 May) after they received the fewest country votes this week – but Zainab headed into Upville to join the VIP housemates, having received the most country votes. Life is about to get a little harder for the Upville VIPs though – after 14 cozy days living the high life, they will have their first nomination sessions on Monday (21 May) and someone will be evicted during next Sunday’s live eviction show!
Prior to Dalphin, Yadel and Luke’s eviction, two other housemates had already left the game this week, as Ola and Chris voluntarily departed Downville due to Ola’s health concerns.
The show kicked off with a roof-raising performance by Kenyan hip-hop stars Camp Mulla, performing Fresh All Day. With Duma FM’s Robbie Rob from Botswana on the decks as well, the scene was set for a rocking eviction show.
IK reminded Africa of the week that was in both Downville and Upville, which saw the BBF’s lose their 75% wager and play a serious game of Spin the Bottle, while the VIP’s were successful with their task but also saw Big Brother put his foot down to rein in DKB and Prezzo’s animosity toward each other. Newcomer Maneta also made waves in Upville, with Roki devoting a whole lot of his attention to her!
Africa got a chance to hear how last week’s evicted housemates were doing as well – Hilda said she had expected to spend more time in the game but had missed her 3 year-old son terribly and Julio was shocked to leave so soon but thought he had played a significant part in what he called “the best first week of Big Brother, ever”. Teclar said her eviction experience had been bittersweet – having to leave the house, but knowing that her sister Maneta still had a chance of winning the USD 300 000 prize.

Eviction time loomed as IK took viewers into Downville and asked Zainab and Dalphin from Sierra Leone to join him on stage. He quizzed Zainab about her quarrels with Seydou and then Dalphin about her favourite moments in the house – before showing both their highlights. He didn’t reveal their fate immediately, instead asking them to take a seat as he summoned Luke and Yadel to the stage.  Once the Liberian duo had emerged, he chatted to them about their relationships in the house, with Luke getting to know Jessica really well and Yadel cozying up to Alex, despite being in a relationship outside the house.
IK then called the Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo auditor on stage, who confirmed that the results of this week’s voting had been verified. He reminded viewers and housemates that though the housemates entered the house as pairs and left the house as pairs, what happens from the point they join him on stage depends on individual votes from countries. After a dramatic pause, he told model booker Dalphin that she would be the first housemate to be evicted this week. Entertainer Yadel followed, leaving Luke and Zainab on stage. IK revealed that Luke had received the 2nd-most country votes this week – meaning that he had been evicted – while model Zainab would return to the game, as part of the Upville VIP crew.
Zainab was sent straight into the Upville house, where she and Maneta immediately embraced each other with shrieks of delight. The Zimbabwean immediately bombarded her with loads of questions about her sister Teclar’s whereabouts before introducing her to the other Upville housemates.
As Zainab got to know her new housemates, IK revealed to viewers that there would be no random nominations in Downville this week – but it was time to shake things up in Upville. He broke the news to the Upville housemates that they would be nominating each other on Monday, with evictions looming next Sunday. Housemates entering Upville will have immunity from nomination in their first week – meaning that Zainab is safe, but the other 8 housemates are all in the firing line. The Nomination Show will be broadcast live at 20:00 CAT on DStv Channel 198 on Monday, with voting lines opening at 20:30 CAT. For the first time on Big Brother StarGame, the Head of House will be able to influence proceedings – things are about to get even more interesting in Upville!
As the VIP housemates digested the news, IK popped up on the Downville TV screen once more and told the housemates that they wouldn’t be experiencing the nomination drama this week. As they celebrated, IK played them a heart-warming message from Ola and Chris before Camp Mulla rocked the stage once more with Party Don’t Stop.
This week’s trio of evictions, Ola and Chris’ exit and Zainab’s upgrade to Upville, means that 18 housemates remain in the Downville house, while there are now 9 housemates in Upville – and they have 77 days to go in the game, in the battle for the USD 300 00 prize.
The voting winners this week were as follows: Eunice Thomas (Uganda) won a DStv HD PVR, Neil Sathekge (South Africa) picked up a DStv Walka and Simoko Mtutuma (Zambia) won a Big Boy Scooter.
