blankMay 26: Supreme Court Ruling Can Result In Someone Selling The Castle To Himself!
A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a lawmaker says the ruling by the Supreme Court that former Tourism Minister and one-time Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey had the right under the constitution.

Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, who is the NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central believes the ruling has paved the way for public officials to do similar if not worse acts by acquiring for themselves such public property they are supposed to keep.
May 26: Fifi Kwetey Wins Ketu South Primaries!
Deputy Minister for Finance, Fifi Kwetey has beaten incumbent Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Albert Zigah in a landslide victory in the final NDC parliamentary primaries. Mr. Kwetey polled 403 votes while Mr. Albert Zigah managed only 60 votes in the primaries held on Saturday. Mr. Raphael Alorwu, a National Service District Director polled 82 votes, Nyphson Agbagedy a former NDC parliamentary aspirant in the 2004 elections had 30 votes, Nicholas Woclachie 6 votes, Elzabeth Kunyefu, an educationist and a gender activist polled 3 votes and Frederick Alipui had just 1 vote.
May 26: NDC Building University On Paper!
The Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, has described the facilities for the take-off of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) as not even fit for a day nursery. He said it was one thing building a university on paper and another putting the infrastructure on the ground.
May 25: Dr. Bawumia Prays For NPP!
The New Patriotic Party vice presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Friday arrived in Prain in the Brong Ahafo Region to participate in this year’s annual Quranic recitation gathering called Mauled. Dr. Bawumia who has been touring the Northern region with Nana Akuffo Addo led a delegation of the NPP to participate in the event.
At such a gathering, Muslims from all walks of life congregate to recite the Quran.
May 24: NDC, DFP Merger Is An Illegality!
The suspended General Secretary of the NDC, Kofi Adams has served notice to the party that it would be committing an illegality if it co-opts any members of the now defunct DFP as executive members. He adds that the decision contravenes sections of the party’s constitution. Kofi Adams told Citi News the party has already co-opted enough members into the executive as required by the party’s constitution at both the Regional and National Level.
May 23: Kwabena Duffuor Apologises To Parliament!
The Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, yesterday apologised to Parliament for what members of the legislature had described as his disrespect of the August House that unduly delayed government business. Dr. Duffuor humbly pleaded with the House to temper justice with mercy after appearing late to lay five papers concerning some loan facilities on the floor of Parliament.
May 23: Castle Stalls Woyome Probe!
Efforts by security agents to go beyond where they have reached so far with the Woyome judgment debacle are being stalled by the Castle, DAILY GUIDE has reliably gathered. The Minister of Finance and other top government officials who would be needed to enable the security agents make appreciable headway in their investigations are unable to show up because the Castle is not comfortable with the outcome of such an engagement.
May 22: Mills Steps Down…As Flagbearer Of NDC In December Polls?
Many are those who could not decipher what lies beneath the long silence of the well-mannered Professor of Law and President of Ghana, John Evans Atta Mills to the daily barrage of attacks from the founder of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry Rawlings,…but the Al-Hajj can report today that the 2012 flagbearer and leader of NDC is seriously considering bowing out of the December elections and quitting politics altogether to save his image from a ‘possible slaughter from the founder and his wife’.
May 22: “John Mahama Is The Only Visible Vice President In The World”!
Alhaji Asuma Banda, a business magnate and member of the Council of State has said Vice President John Mahama is the only visible vice president that could be found in the world. He intimated that before 2009 when the ruling National Democratic Congress took over power, he had always presumed that the position of the Vice President was that of just a mere ‘spare tyre’ and not anything serious.

May 22: Sekuo’s Defection To NPP Will Not Make a Difference!
Political Scientist and Lecturer at the University of Ghana, says Dr. Sekuo Nkrumah move to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not make any impact. Evans Aggrey Darko has said Ghanaians must interrogate the Sekuo’s level of influence and his reasons for moving to the NPP.
