Ghanaian Housemates, Attitude And The Big Brother Game. How Are These Candidates Selected?

Confidence Haugen
Confidence Haugen-Season 6 Amplified

If you think there is no such thing as bad publicity, try being Eazzy or DKB on an international stage, goofing when you need to be winning and putting your promoters to shame.
How a beautiful African woman refuses to go on stage just because of Brazilian hair is beyond my comprehension. Talk of ‘graceful’ exits? Haha!
And DKB? Really? I wonder if his girlfriend suffers the same fate at his hands every time she does something wrong to him. You take a God-given opportunity to shine and throw it to the dogs all for what? Just so you can slap a lady who ‘provoked’ you.
Whatever happened to good thinking and ambition?
Now do we dismiss these as isolated issues or do we tackle the underlying attitude problems of almost all the big brother representatives Ghana has presented-past and present?
How come over the years no Ghanaian Housemate has taken us far enough?
The only hope I presently see at longevity in the big brother house is KEITTA. A really decent chap!…That is just me ‘talking’, if you think he is not a decent chap, say it loud using the comment box.

He at least did relatively better than most, he was himself and treated people nicely. No unnecessary airs even when he went back in season 5 for all stars. A gentleman in his own rights.

Ohemaa Mercy: Hostage For Non-Payment Of Hospital Bills

Gosple musician Ohemaa Mercy

When Ohemaa Mercy sang ‘I shall not die’ there was more to it that just the words and a lady with a silky harmonious voice wailing to catch attention.
The gospel singer who has endeared herself to most Ghanaians within a short time was at a stage in her life held hostage at a hospital for inability to pay her bills after medical treatment.
This and more revelations came to fore when Ohemaa Mercy was invited to the Yellow House to meet the Girls.
The outgoing singer said after the surgery, her wounds opened up but she was scared of the bills and had to run home to seek ‘black’ treatment. “I talk about my experiences so people know I am not all this they see but I have had some bad experiences. I let those experiences be a testimony of how great God has been,” she said with a lot of hope in her eyes.

Reality TV, A Golden Opportunity To Fame Or The Doom Of Mishaps?

blank
Whether it is about people trying to find love,  racing across the globe, facing their fears, living with strangers, or talent competitions, there seems to be no off-limits when it comes to reality TV shows these days.
Yes, I know, they are so addictive and so juicy to watch! But it must be hell to be a post/ex-contender of some of these shows especially considering some of the dramatic exits. I find myself wondering, whether reality TV really is  the a golden ticket to fame and quick cash or whether they are just one those things that you get into to gain some publicity and you end up with more than you bargained for ( a bad reputation as the icing on the cake!) ?
Is it worth the aftermath of damaged image and reputation? I mean I don’t even want to mention names but we all know where I’m going with this.
The whole issue of DKB and Eazzy on Big Brother Africa, the exit drama and having to come out into the “real world” with pending damage control raise the question; Is it really worth it?
