A celebrity is an individual with popular appeal, prominence in a particular field, and is easily recognized by the general public within a particular society. The term celebrity is synonymous to wealth and mostly used within the fields of sports and entertainment.
However, when it comes to most of our Africa celebrities (Entertainers), the term ‘celebrity’ is identical to purely being ‘famous’ and substantially broke.
The reasons why most of our Africa celebrity entertainers fail to achieve the all important aspect of being a celebrity (wealth) will be considered in this piece. What are our celebrities doing wrong compared to western celebrities?
Becoming famous which is the first aspect of being a celebrity is not very difficult, the real work is being able to make a living or create some sort of wealth from the fame (popularity).
For a person to be able to create wealth within any society, such a person must perfectly understand the market structures and the principles that control the market-forces and consumers.
Most of our Africa celebrity entertainers remain broke because they do not understand the market they find themselves within; they are buying into concepts and practices which make money in western markets but do not make anything in their own markets.

Mr Blatter was full of praise for Dentaa and Campbell for their efforts at making the Arthur Wharton Foundation a success.
Earlier, on behalf of the Foundation, Dentaa presented the statute of Arthur Wharton, the first black Professional footballer, to Mr. Blatter, so that it could be erected at the FIFA headquarters in remembrance.
After the presentation Dentaa said “I am thrilled to present this statue. Arthur Wharton was a Trailblazer. His ambition has led to many black players being around today. We are seeing the result of his footsteps, a multicultural game now exists thanks to the likes of Arthur Wharton; and soccer
and the world are better because of it.”
Twitter lit up on Tuesday when news of the presentation broke with Sepp Blatter tweeting about it…
In the coming months and years, visitors to the Home of FIFA in Zurich may notice a bronze statue of a goalkeeper on display and wonder who it is. Lifestyle: The Beautiful Young Ghanaian Woman And The Old White Lover-A Sickening Trend?

blank
Have you taken a quiet stroll through the priced restaurants in town on a good day or night? Especially the Accramall?
Have you been to the Labadi beach recently with your friends or family ?
Does this sound familiar?
Has anyone noticed the rising sickening trend of Ghanaian women trying to bag a white old man to seal their status’ as societal ‘it women’?
Most of whom are the most gorgeous ladies among their peers. Well I have noticed and wonder how they think low enough to cultivate this sort of idea and subsequently put it into practice.
I remember having a drink with my friend at ‘firefly’ and overhearing two ladies speaking behind me about white men.
One of them was complaining about how uncomfortable she was in the midst of so many white men and her friend replied how happy she was because she liked to be checked out by white men. She said “I like places where there are a lot of white men because they have the money you know !!”
I almost rudely interrupted their conversation to school her. Ghanaian women, who are ignorant enough to think some of these white men actually give a damn about you, let me give you a rude awakening.
Some of the white men around only want one thing from you and that is to use you as sexual toys. Their opinions about you haven’t changed since slavery days. You are their little slave bitch they keep in the corner away from the eyes of the world.
Even when they marry you, it’s mostly because they want to make their business dealings easier in Ghana or they keep you here in a 2 bedroom apartment and come visit every now and then for maybe 2 weeks a year.
And send you some petty dollars once in awhile which changes for enough cedis to compensate you while you toil away at the embassy waiting for a visa to his country that will never come.
Why? Have you asked yourself? The answer is simple. You will never be the ‘leading lady’. Ask your husband why you haven’t gotten a visa to even go visit him after you have been trying for 5/6 years?
