PHOTOS: Fashion On The Yellow Carpet At ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ Concert!

If you were at the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert yesterday you would know there was no where else to be in the whole of Accra. Although the event started a good 2 hours later than the scheduled 7pm, it was a great show.
Artistes of the night were on fire with Tiwa Savage rocking the crowd with an international performance, M.I also kept the crowd on their feet and young Dami Duro crooner Davido left everybody dancing and shouting for more.
Our home artistes did not disappoint us. Highlights of the night included Sala’s totally hot performance, Louisika’s ‘Nicki Minaj’ explicit style ,Kaaki’s lingering dancehall music and Kwaw Kesse’s never disappointing crazy(Abodam) performance.
Although the night was musically charged, the fashionistas refused to cleave it all to music. They chose to make their mark.
From daring booty shorts to conservative gorgeous gowns and proud fabulous African prints, the yellow carpet and the Dome came alive!
Regular clothes and different designers (though we are not sure if we should believe all the designer names we heard) graced the night. Ghanaian and Nigerian seized the night to showcase their sense of style.
Some of our stars also came out to shine as they chilled in the VVIP lounge. GhanaCelebrities.Com was there as usual to get you the close up photos
Are you feeling any of these styles or would you have dressed differently for the event?

    • @Maame,
Are you trying to say that they could not get a seamstress put together simple, elegant and more importantly show the pride in our prints for something like this??? Come on!!! This right here is the problem. No respect for our own beauty. No wonder LV, Gucci and all those other foreign designers are taking advantage of our beautiful fabrics and selling them for thousands since we don’t give a rat about using them ourselves. I reside overseas and soooo proud to rock my African prints or whatever you want to call it every time I can both domestically and abroad. Be proud!

      • @jessi221980, Yea you don’t have to be a fashion designer to know how to dress. Come on, if nothing at all, we can learn from the real Hollywood stars and other great fashion icons. At least that is how I learn. Following the trend wisely and nicely.

  8. Honestly, I think it is all about copying blindly. Fashion doesn’t have to be what is in style, It has to be what looks great on you and what flatters your figure beautifully. Some Ghanaian women just don’t get it! It has been cheap China clothing, shoes, and accessories all over. They would have been better buying a quality “broni Waewo.” Some great selections can be found from those loads, you know. I don’t shop it because I am blessed to be in the USA, and I can blessingly buy what I want, but seriously the fashion in Ghana sucks.

  9. Look at that fool wearing a stars, and stripes T-shirt logo with I’m #1 inscribed on it. What backwardness! On a day when he should be promoting his country, he is rather wearing, and glorifying another country outside Africa.
