Showbiz Honours Is Back With Former Black Stars Captain-Stephen Appiah

It is worth celebrating personalities who thrive to put the country’s name on the map when they are alive and not wait for their demise before good things are said about them or awards given to them.
With the mindset to award stars when they are alive and not when they die, Emklan Entertainment owned by Daniel Quophi Amoateng also known as Okyeame Quophi and a former member of the rap duo, Akyeame with the help of his wife Stacy Amoateng of TV3’s Music Music fame instituted an event to celebrate the nation’s celebrities.
‘Showbiz Honours’ as it’s called had Nadia Buari as the first celebrant. In a very colourful event in Accra, she was celebrated in the presence of her family members, friends and industry professionals.

This year, the College of the Honours which is also the Selection Committee and made up of showbiz analyst, critics and stakeholders after several works and deep investigations found former Black Stars former El Capitano Stephen Leroy Appiah as the perfect showbiz personality to be honoured.
Speaking at the launch yesterday, the 2012 Showbiz Honouree, Stephen ‘Tornado’ Appiah, said “I feel very good [to be picked as the Honouree].”
The former skipper who was the first Ghanaian captain to qualify the country to her first World Cup in 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa continued that, though he is not the only showbiz personality operating a foundation, he is happy the College picked him.
“I call myself a lucky guy because a lot of people are doing charity works, so I’m really happy to be here tonight. It means a lot; it shows that whatever I’m doing, people appreciate it. There is someone somewhere who appreciate or reorganize Stephen Appiah and Emklan [Entertainment] has done it and I’m happy for that”, he concluded.
As part of the activities to mark the celebration of Stephen Appiah, commencing in October to December, football tournaments would be organised for teams in Accra and Kumasi.
The 3-months celebrations will climax with a grand musical concert at the Accra Sports Stadium and the organisers have hinted that, the concert would be FREE.
Emklan Entertainment is organising this event under the tutelage of Minister of Information.
