Menaye Donkor Given The ‘Huge Honour’ Of Being Installed As The ‘Nkosuhemaa’ Of Agona Asafo

Model, philanthropist and entrepreneur, Menaye Donkor, was this week chosen by the Chief and elders of Agona Asafo in the Central Region of Ghana as the ‘Nkosuohemaa’ or ‘Development Queen’ of the town. She will be inaugurated in to the position during the Akwanbo Festival on Saturday 8th September.
Agona Asafo is the hometown of Menaye’s father, and means a lot to Menaye. It is where she used to spend her holidays when she was a child and she still visits regularly. Menaye is the youngest Development Queenmother ever to be enstooled in the area.
Even though Menaye Donkor Muntari’s grandmother was the traditional Queen Mother of the Twidan family of the town, her installation is in recognition of her charity work in the town, especially her contribution to the education of the rural and deprived children in the region.
In 2004, when Menaye Donkor Muntari won Miss Universe Ghana 2004 Beauty Pageant she decided to use her position for good and embarked on her charity activities. She has since taken the full financial responsibility for a school in the town, which was originally established by her parents, to provide rural children the same quality education that is enjoyed by many urban children in Ghana.
The school currently provides education for hundreds of children in the region at absolutely no cost to their parents or families. The Menaye Charity Organisation is solely responsible for the running costs of the school including building maintenance, the teachers, school uniforms, books, and stationary. Menaye’s charity also recently installed an IT suite at the school.
As the new face of Printex, Menaye continues to support the school, with 100% of her earnings from Printex going towards its upkeep, and through which she intends to purchase a school bus to provide free transportation for the children, some of whom have to walk many miles on their round trip.
Menaye has also given a lot of financial support to the local Zion Church to complete its church building.
Menaye Donkor Muntari is therefore being honoured in recognition of her selfless work to the development of the town. The traditional installation will be part of the activities at a grand durba to be held at Agona Asafo next week to climax the Annual Akwanbo Festival.
Menaye said of the appointment; “I was absolutely blown away when they asked me to take on this new role. It is a huge honour and something that I am incredibly proud of. I look forward to continuing to dedicate my efforts to charity initiatives in the region, and to representing Agona Asafo throughout Ghana and the rest of the world.”

    • @koby, give praise where praise is due, she will not pay the teachers directly, if anything, the school administration should be questioned, they receive the donations.

    • @koby, preach on my brother.
most celebrities set up these foundations to deceive and take money from doners abroad which goes into their pocket for personal chop chop.
they will never show hpow much donations they get on behalf of the foundations.
ask yvonne nelson and julliet ibrahim and the others. they are chop chopping.
they announce the charity to everybody and receive donations from people in ghana and outside just into their own pockets. only small will be declared.
those who have opened their minds should hear and learn. the truth is hard
but God bless her for the ones she has done genuinely
even small girls who cannot feed themselves are setting up foundations too. ask yourself why

        • @Constance, So you really think the lady will collect money from poor children to spend? Do you think that will be sufficient for her up keeps? Wasn’t she the one you people also say she chops her husbands money? So now it’s not only the husbands money but charity money. Yes there are many local celebrities that use charity to gain money and pretend to claim fame in the name of charity but not this lady. She started this charity over 8 years ago with the support from the governt so givepraise when it’s due. Menaye wayeade3 and if you don’t like it go and burn the sea
