LIFESTYLE: Would You Go On A Blind Date?-My Experience

You know when Nigerians say ‘My eyes have seen my ears’?
That is what happened to me last week when my friend Natasha decided to set me up with some random bloke.
Since she claimed I had been single too long, she came telling me flamboyant stories about this really ‘great’ guy who would love to meet me and whom I would like because according to her, he is ‘my type’!!
Tasha as I affectionately call her proceeded to nag me till I agreed to meet this man. So we set up a date. I dodged the first date but this guy calls me up one evening talking about a really cool jazz concert in town. I said of course I’d love to go.
So first of all we schedule for 5 pm but dude shows up at 7. And I am angry already like did this guy seriously make me wait 2 hours for him? And just as I got tired and was about to slip out of my evening dress, he appears so I am forced to keep calm. Grinding my teeth in chagrin. Even more so when my eyes took in his appearance. Eiii, Bo ne! Is it khaki jumper this man is wearing?
Brown khaki jumper paa with blue suede shoes!!! And a huge Bob Okala watch.
We exchange pleasantries and drove off in his ‘my father was once rich’ Benz. Hmmph!
Luckily for us, we arrived just as the concert was starting so we didn’t miss anything.
While the concert was ongoing, everyone was calmly enjoying the music but ‘uncle’ was drinking all the kasapreko they were serving at the event and chatting as loudly, spitting in my face anytime he turns my way to talk.
I bite all my comments back into my mouth and endure. Although I love jazz, I was closely watching the clock…
Finally show ended at 10 pm and I grabbed my purse immediately almost shouting NO! When he asked if I would like a quick drink before we head home.
But I guess my woes were far from over, we walked to the parking lot, got into the car, he sparked it and it wheezes, coughs, jumps and goes silent!
Amanie hunu! Now the parking lot is filling up with people from the concert and this man’s Benz won’t spark to save a life!
We sat there trying to ignite it for several minutes with no joy. Finally I removed my shoes and sat on the pavement waiting. Some young men including the security men in the parking lot soon gathered round and helped me push till the car sparked.
When we got to my house, I thank him ‘bokoo’ and ran upstairs never to show my face again. As for Natasha, I almost knocked her head in for putting me through that.
Imagine my first blind date, how bad could it get? I laughed so hard in my room I had tears running down my cheeks.  It was worse than BET’S  ‘Hell Date’ only it was actually real!
Have you ever been on a blind date? How did it go? Did you have more fun than I did? Tell me about it!

    • @27calibre (O_0), LOL!!sweety, I dnt really remember going on a blind date myself but I have an old story.I have escorted m y cousin to one before.(ofcourse I was young and naive)So the plan was, both of us will go and I will be waiting for her in the car.If She goes and the dude was fine, she will spend more time with him, but if he was the opposite, she will tell him she needs to go do something home.Lo and behold, we went and here comes wukoogyafu.I wont go into details about him, but my cousin returned bk with an angry face and I didnt want to ask anything cuz my common sense told me all.For me, I feel like atleast we need to see each other beofore a date comes,.Because the thing is, what If I go an extra mile to buy all these things to dress up and look and look nice and it doesnt go as planned. Some risk are not worth takin u know?

    • @27calibre (O_0),please, no more blind dates for me it’s always a nightmare tried it some few years and
It was a nightmare my old pals hooked me up with some girl and it was suppose to be a double date which
Turned out to be a single date (me and that mystery girl) as I was coming closer to her without paying attention
I came to stand next to a pretty girl that was standing there and I was already saying my prayers and thanking god for giving me such a good friends and for hooking me up with this fine girl not knowing that when I gig closer to her
I introduce myself and the girl gave me some dirty look (something like do I know you) so I back down a bit scratching my head and decides to call the number and was ringing so I ask her where she was standing and was not far from where I was at that time so I thought like after seeing the first girl than they other one must be looking fine as well than soon as I
Walked in with pride I saw a girl looking strait at me an coming my way it looks like she already knew who I was
And introduce herself to me and gave me kisses on both cheeks I was like damn what in the name is. Happening
Here who is this girl with black beige and a bit of green braids I tried to be patient and hoping the time would
Go fast cause at that time I was stuck and embarrassed in way like am I really here with a girl who looks more like
A Christmas decoration with all those colourful braids or what I had to say my friends did a good job by hooking me up
With someone like that the most painful part was me that this girl was talking to much through out the whole night
So as for me when it comes to blind date mr Calibre than its as BIG HELL NO I love to prank people but to prank
Me with something like this is torture
