On December 14, versatile Ghanaian artiste, Okyeame Kwame will be looking at doing something different with the launch of his ‘Versatile Show’ – a history making show.
The 2-hour show which will take place at the National Theatre is all about a night of music, poetry, theatre and dance. What makes it historic is because no artiste has tried to do all that on one stage.
The show is packed with rich and pure artistic content – making it the first time that such a show is being put up. Most artiste might have thought of it but the work and logistics indeed for the execution of such a show is not something that ‘not serious’ musician can endure.
“The Versatile Show’ is a musical performance that seeks to bring classic entertainment at a very high level and also show the rapper (Okyeame Kwame) as an all round performer.” – the Rap Doctor said at the press briefing on Wednesday.
The award winning artiste said, on the night, all the artistes he featured on the album would be on as they perform each of the songs. It is not all about just singing the songs, they will ‘act’ the songs on stage.
Some of the artistes featured on the album are Efya, Samini, Irene, Yaa, Vera D3, Raquel, Soul Black, Edem, Tinny, She and Kesse.
He also stressed that for a month, rehearsals and preparations towards the show would be televised on various entertainment programs, this he said would give the fans firsthand information of what they will be expecting on December 14.
The show will also bring together on stage a combination of varying themes like live band, orchestra, traditional instruments, PA for a DJ and a choir.
At the press launch, a young man working as the choreography for the show said they are working on various dance movements that will suit Okyeame Kwame’s status, songs and make sure the fans get fulfilled.
Celebrated sound engineer, Zapp Mallet who would be handling sound on the night also promised a great show backed by good sound on the night.
