New Scam Alert: Why You Should NOT Buy Any African Movie Because Of The Photos Or Names Of Actors You See On The Cover/Poster…

If you have not yet been scammed by those lousy African film-makers, then thank God you’ve come across this post which aims at rescuing your hard earned cash and saving you precious time.

It is unfortunate that we do not have any great on-time African movie review websites or blogs out there to feed us with adequate information before we purchase a movie.

Am I the only person who has wasted a lot of time watching African movies with ‘stupid’ storylines or extreme bad acting which I would never have watched if I had prior information on how terrible these movies were?

Mostly, the average African movie lover reads the appallingly put together synopsis on a movie and then proceeds to buy or watch it. When it comes to African movies, the initial pull factor for most people is the poster- the actors and actresses on a movie’s poster.

Some few years ago, the titles of African movies and the names of Directors used to be considered by movie lovers before investing their time or money. However, it seems the smart African movie lovers have realized that, you cannot trust those silly and cunning ‘titles’ of African movies anymore.

With some great Directors working on substandard movies and every actor or actress becoming a director, you can no longer trust the names you see as Directors on African movies to decide on how good or crap a movie will be.

As African movie lovers struggle to determine how good or crappy a movie is before spending their cash or time on it, most have settled on watching or buying movies that feature their favourite actors and actresses.

Using the above in determining whether to buy/watch an African movie or not used to be a bit reliable.  After all, even if the movie is terrible, you would have watched one of your favourite actors or actresses (for some people, this lowers the huge disappointment for the wasted time or money).

Now here is the new scam and what you must be alerted on…

Those crafty film-makers, producers and marketers whose sole aim is to make profit to the detriment of the African movie industry and the satisfaction of African movie lovers have  began selling movies with certain actors and actresses on the posters/VCD covers when in fact, those actors/actresses never starred in the movies (You cannot find them in the movies).

What these scheming individuals involved in the African movie industry are doing is this; they randomly pick photos of certain top actors and actresses and then placed them on their movie posters and covers as having been featured in those movies to get their fans to buy the movies…What a cheap and illegal way of marketing.

Before GhanaCelebrities.Com decided to bring this to the attention of our African movie loving readers, we spoke to certain Ghanaian actresses who expressed their dissatisfaction and shock at this new movie marketing strategy.

One of the actresses we spoke to mentioned that, she recently saw her photo on a movie’s poster  (a movie she did not star in) and when she managed to contact the producer who was based in Nigeria through her lawyers, the producer simply  stated that the harm has already been caused. He therefore offered to pay her for using her image/photo…

Imagine how disappointed any fan of this movie star will be if he/she purchases this movie solely on the grounds that her favourite movie star is in the movie (something most African movie lovers do)….

Be on guard, the next time you see your favourite movie stars on a movie’s poster or VCD, do not quickly jump to buy or press play, it may be a scam…
