Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has mentioned to GhanaCelebrities.Com that, he spent over US$100,000 to put up his John Dumelo Studios together to give back to the society what the society has given him in a form of a workshop to train budding talents with interest in various departments in movie making.
“It cost me a lot to put this thing up. It costs me over US$100,000”, he told GhanaCelebrities.Com after a short visit in his office recently.
John said interested participants are expected to pick one area of movie making to specialize in. They are to choose from: Photography, Sound Design, Video Editing, Animation, Directing/Screen Writing and Acting for Screen.
The John Dumelo Studios’ project is aimed at organizing workshops for individuals who has the penchant for movie making but lacks the needed training. The workshop which is organized in every two months is in close partnership with Red Apple Entertainment.
According to John, the training will create the opportunity for both aspiring and performing film actors to be trained to perfect their acting skills and also star in a movie with any of the big movie stars in the country.
Training will be done by seasoned tutors from NAFTI and guests from South Africa and Germany. To be part of the workshop, the applicant must possess the ability, skills and competence to deliver, John said.
An applicant is expected to purchase a form for the workshop. After the studies, each applicant will do a movie which will be sponsored and paid for by the school.
Unlike other film schools, which do not sponsor applicants after going through their studies, the John Dumelo School will fund student projects.
During our visit, John said the Movie Industry in Ghana is in dire need of new faces, so the workshop is another way of introducing people into the industry.
He also stated that, there is scholarship for applicants who need financial support. Any applicant who is in need of scholarship must apply and state why he or she needs the scholarship.

@27cдгibre(Ф_ф), your mum was absolutely right,the pain,sleepless nights,and all the drammer that comes with it is really not an easy thing but i must say God is great cos it took 5 years after marriage to conceive them just when we were about giving up and the beauty of it is you forget all the pain when you finally get to see them,soo tiny and fragile.I have no twins in my family and soo is my man but he is always eating cheese and i think thats what did the trick,you should try it too when you are ready.
