POLITRICKS OF THE DAY: Upper West Regional Minister Survives Shooting Incident….Likely To Be Flown To Accra-What Is Ghana Turning Into?

Upper West Regional Minister Amidu SulemanaReports by Peacefmonline.com has it that the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana has been shot by some unknown assailants.

According to reports, the Regional Minister’s convoy was attacked in the early hours of Friday, December 21 by identified gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.

He is said to be currently on admission at the Gwollu Government Hospital where he is receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. But it appears he will be conveyed to the regional capital Wa, from where he might be flown to Accra for further treatment.

His predecessor, Mahmud Halid, the former Regional Minister, confirmed the news to PeaceFM, a short while ago.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer for the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, Bagdara Tanko has told newsmen that the minister’s convoy was ambushed by suspected armed robbers.

“The Minister was on an official working visit to some of the districts. He was on his way to one community when he was ambushed. A roadblock had been mounted and shots fired from behind. Unfortunately, one of the bullets hit him….As at now, his condition is very stable and we are praying that he’ll be fine. He was with his bodyguard and the driver but he was the only one wounded because he was sitting in the backseat.”

  1. dis has got absolutely nothing to do with politics…d poor minister’s car was ambushed by armed robbers n he was shot…pls dnt gve ideas to pple who read ur blog…dnt mislead pple into thinkin dat a political party was behind dis..n u asked what is Ghana turning into? well incase u av not noticed…armed robbery is a common thing in ghana nw…n unfortunately they shoot most of their victims…d honourable minister is nt d first n definitely nt d last to be a victim of dis awful n terrible incident…wat u shd b doing as a journalist is to be charging d security service to do their work…criticise them instead of Yvonne Nelson…then maybe…just maybe Ghana wud b a beta place for us all. God Bless our homeland.
