So soon, 2012 is over and we will be jumping into another year with high hopes that we would achieve the success we yearn for in life.
Like most people, I started 2012 with a big plan and a sketchy New Year resolution. With much discipline, needed MOTIVATION, hard work and dedication, I was able to achieve all I listed and even more….
What did I want to achieve in 2012?
I am extremely bad with savings and no matter how much I was making in a month, my bank or paypal account did not load up. The money flew out in large amounts same way they came.
So my first goal was to raise an emergency fund of a considerable amount (not disclosing the amount for several reasons) which I have been able to pass the amount I initially wanted to put aside…
Also, I wanted to complete and start selling my first eBook ‘Success Is A Right Not A Privilege’ which I was able to launch in August, 2012. And to be frank, the reviews and sales have been GREAT, far from I even expected.
When I finished Law School last year, I asked myself the big question almost every graduate asks; so what next?
I knew I wanted to study and write the New York Bar exams but then I wanted to do other practical things in the field of law too. So one thing I wanted to achieve was to find a law firm or institution where I can get some practical experience whiles I struggle with the books in preparation for the New York Bar Exams.
For the past 5 months, I have been getting practical legal experience at the Luton Law Centre. The feeling that I have been able to secure a place where I can acquire new law related skills and also put some of what I studied into practical use is great, but to be doing this and at the same time helping my community (The Law Centre mostly deal with Legal Aid cases or issues) is phenomenal.
Another thing I wanted to achieve this year was to double the traffic of my blogs…For that, I can say I am even amazed as to the page views and unique visitors my blogs are receiving.
In spite of all these, I wanted to travel too. I needed to budget time and money for my travels. I wanted to experience and have a feel of how life is out there in Scandinavia.
In August (before launching by first eBook), I travelled to Denmark and Sweden, and met several interesting/like minded people.
I was able to achieve all that I set my mind to do in 2012 because I had the MOTIVATION. Without the necessary or adequate fuel of motivation, you can’t go far with your dreams and New Year resolutions.
A lot of problems came my way in 2012 and similar or even worse ones will come your way in 2013 which you must deal with in order to continue your journey towards achieving the success you desire.
