Black People Are Racists Yet They Cry ‘Racism’ All The Time, And This The Reason Some Of Us Are Either Stagnant Or Have Stunted Growth

Single Black Woman

…..So I was stopped by a police officer because my MOT had expired (which truthfully I was aware) and I was fined. I told a friend my ordeal and his first statement: “It’s because you’re BLACK that is why they (police) stopped you.” I just looked at him, shook my head and answered: “We cry of racism even if we break the law?”. The cry of racism is killing some of us and we are aware (I think). We are not developing as individuals because we have condemned ourselves to be either black or belonging to a certain tribe, wherever we are located.

Some parents in the diaspora have done a very big disservice to their children by planting outrageous thoughts in their mind that ‘white people think blacks are blockheaded and don’t bother with them’, is that statement supposed to empower them or deflate their self-esteem?

The young brain is like a sponge; any information you feed into it soaks and stays there. The child goes to school and cannot be bothered to put in any effort in his/her studies because the teacher thinks he/she is block-headed, maybe go into higher education and choose a course meant for his/her ‘type’, finishes school and ends up roaming the streets because he/she is not employable and the same parent will be chasing prayers for that child they have ‘killed’.

When you move to another country and you’re unfortunate to mingle or live with racist criers, you’ll never achieve anything worthwhile. Apply for a certain job or a course and they’re quick to tell you it’s not meant for ‘you’. That is not being helpful, that is killing you. Young people are languishing in jails with their talents because they think there is no life outside prison.

This is the same way people cry tribalism when it comes to certain services and positions in Ghana. It’s either an Ashanti, a Northerners or a Ga is in power so all jobs will go to them. They sit down, fold their arms or raise their arms in despair because there is no chance of them getting positions or getting jobs

I am not disputing the fact that there is racism; racism has been there before you and I came into this world. And to be truthful, we are more racist than the people we call racists.

Instead of crying racism at every little opportunity, we should rather motivate and inspire ourselves that we can do it and we WILL make it. People are making it, working for reputable organisations and living a descent life, how did they get there in the first place?

We owe ourselves that favour of making it. The truth is very bitter but it needs to be told!

  1. Exactly, people in Ghana treat the Northerners like they’re not Human beings. some won’t even marry them or mingle with them. especially the Akans. But when they travel outside, they want to be treated well and accepted. I’m an Akan anyway

    • @akua, 1) Well you should that northerners are also racist, and treat others as if they were inferior
                     2) As for the marrying issue, is that an obligation or requirement to marry or mingle northerners? People should date or marry whomever they want !

  3. BLACKS CAN BE RACIST…..JUST AS WHITES , ASIANS etc.

But personally i think that there is a greater chance for whites to be rcist because we live in a WHITE SUPREMACIST WORLD where everything is monitored by whites. Look at how blacks are portrayed in the media… when was the last time u saw a black politician, lawyer,Ingenner, entrepreneur.

    But u see

    a black actor,
    criminal,
    athletes,
    less priviledged

do u think its less racist?

  4. Good point, I have told people to read the ‘Willie Lynch letter’, but it seems nobody want to spend just 10minutes to read that piece of information. The writer of this article has some points but he missed out on all the real issues, probably what he is saying applies to people living in Ghana, with regards to the tribalism in Ghana. But if you have a prison system like in the USA, whereby Blacks make up about 12% of the population but yet they make up about 40% of people incarcerated then there is something wrong. How many times have you heard a black person shooting a white man and when arrested he claims ‘I only shot a nigger?’. Black people are racist, yes that is why there is a white only restaurant in Ghana but there isn’t a black only restaurant in UK or USA. Black people are racist that is why a mixed race person is accepted as Black but can never been accepted as WHite. Yes indeed Blacks are racist.

  5. Can blacks be racist?  The answer, of course, will depend on how you define racism.  If you define it as “prejudice against or hatred toward another race,” then the answer is yes.  If you define racism as “the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race,” the answer is yes.   And if you define racism as “prejudice and discrimination rooted in race-based loathing,” then the answer is, again, yes.
However, if you define racism as “a system of group privilege by those who have a disproportionate share of society’s power, prestige, property, and privilege,” then the answer is no.

It is my opinion that individual blacks can be and sometimes are racists.  However, collectively, blacks are neither the primary creators nor beneficiaries of the racism that permeates society today.

  6. SPEAK FOR YOURSELF LUV – AND WHILE YOU’RE PONDERING WHAT TO SAY, REMOVE YOUR COLONIAL CAP** {by that i mean you should unchain yourself from your inferiority complex/ colonial mentality… from your views to your false hair} DO NOT FOIST YOUR SUBJECTIVE VIEWS ON BALANCED AFRICANS LIKE MYSELF.

  7. YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE DEEP ISSUES THAT EXIST ON EITHER SIDE, AND YOUR WRITE-UP ILLUSTRATES THIS. IT DOESN’T GO AWAY BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE RELUCTANT TO IDENTIFY AND ADDRESS IT. REASONABLE OR WELL-INFORMED INDIDIVUAL ON BOTH SIDES RECOGNISE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE ANY SORT OF ALIENATION OR SEGREGATION OR FAVOURITISM GOES DOWN TO THE LOWEST DENOMINATOR. for instance black v white… british v europe…english v scottish… london v up north of england{yorkshire}… north london v south london… upper-class v working class…etc. DOCTORAL THESIS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN ON THE SUBJECT OF RACISM; IT’S DEEPER THAN YOU LET ON*

  8. I think this young lady has made a good point. Reading some of the comments show how deeply rooted some of the feelings towards racism are. I am an expat living and working in Ghana, married to a Ghanaian and have a child. Unfortunatley I am insulted almost on a daily basis because of the colour of my skin. If I make a minor infringment of any rules or laws, I am constantly being told “you wouldn’t do this in your country”. My wife has travelled with me on several occasion to the UK and has been treated with kind consideration. Only once did I hear what could be classed as a racist comment made against her and myself .Your Consience’s remarks such as”Colonial Cap and Mental Slavery” are indicative of a very narrow mind. Let go my friend and move on. You now have a Presidnet of the most powerfull Nation on earth who is Black, so please don;t have such fetterd views. For all of this I still love Africa and its people.
