If you did not know, Reality TV Star-Kim Kardashian was paid high thousands of dollars to come to Nigeria to be a host of a love concert which held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Conventional Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites.
She was assisted as a host by Darey. My questions is; what is wrong with us Africans? When did Kim Kardashian become so good at hosting that she has to be paid thousands of dollars and be brought to Nigeria to handle a concert? Couldn’t Nigerians have found a beautiful lady with far more skills than Kim K. to do the same job?#somepeoplelikebigthings

I’m not a big fan of Kim K & it kind of embarr****es me when Africans fawn over here like they did in Ivory Coast & now in Nigeria. I live in the US & most Americans don’t really care that much about her because they think she’s not shown any talent (besides the **** tape) & she’s an example of everything wrong with American society now (in addition to other reality show people like honey boo boo). I admire Nigerians for spending money to invite famous personalities but I wish they’d spend their hard earned cash to develop their entertainment industry somehow rather than to pay this woman.

@Afia, I beg to differ with you on this, my dearest friend! She got no talant? Yet their reality Show rates among the TOP earnings. They got no brains? -- Yet their clothing line continious to grow each season! What they Got is FAME. and fame gilfriend can come from everywhere including everything. EVEN illegal people are famus for nothing but ill works!
Now tell you what, dont think for the whole of USA, no, those who love them love them and those who hate on them -- may have nothing but pure dislike if not envy- such a strong family that have come a long way to seeing and kissing success) these haters really have no good reason to hate whenever they are asked. @naadu, let’s agree to disagree because I don’t think that commercial success & fame are the same as talent. Kim K may have channeled her fame into cash but @ the end of the day, as an entertainer, I don’t know what she’s particularly talented at (can she sing, act, dance?) You see, it is because commercial success is different from talent that music critics say that even a legend like Madonna who has achieved huge commercial success is not particularly talented because although she can pull in the crowds, her singing capacity is poor (& she hardly composes any of her songs herself) as opposed to other singers like whitney, Mariah, stevie wonder & even recently adele. sorry to all diehard kim k fans out there.

@Afia, I totally agree with you. I’m an African American, and I’m not big fan of Kim K. She’s ONLY famous for laying on her back, exploiting herself, and hurting people along the way. We don’t phuck with that tramp stamp for real. it’s other countries that fawn over her like she’s really somebody. Please, I wouldn’t go and see her at a FREE appearance. But one thing I will say is, she’s BEAUTIFUL in person!! But then again, she’s been under the knife quite a few times with her fake @ss, fake lips, fake cheeks, etc. She’s trying so hard to look Black, yet she looks petrified for her life standing next to beautiful Black Women in the pics in this article. I think the OP was right, we have many talented young and dynamic Nigerians who could have don better.But i think what happened was a business IDEAl just like movies, everybody what’s to see the bigboys. In Nigeria people buy movies because of their cast(actors and actress).
I think more than half of those who came for dat show came to watch her, some of them have seen 2face,ice prince and others perform a countless time. So bring Kim k to Nigeria was a business ideal to sell tickets(doing the same thing in a different way). After all many concert held that day around Lagos

@ Afia, Sweetheart at this point i agree with u to an extent. She is not marketing anything, but Like Madona, she pulls ONLY crowd, an’t that something EXTRA also important? Mind you she is an entertainner. The Kadashien’s show is a HIT no dispute. So if we have to rate success by act i think she needs some credit of recognition.
Plus the gurl is a BUSSINESS WOMAN. she markets brands or stands for brands a whole lot in the USA here. recently I’ve also noticed she’s gone off shores too.
