OBS: Texas Woman Gives Birth To 2 Sets Of Identical Twins, Probability That This Happens Is 1 in 70 Million

Set of TwinsPicture this, as rare as it is to win the lottery with the probability of 1 in millions, it is the same probability for having two sets of identical twins. The probability of that is 1 in 70 million. Most women who are pregnant often hope for one child to be delivered, but sometimes we get double blessings when the babies turn out to be twins. I remember during my pregnancy years, I so much prayed and wished to have a set of twins, but that never happened.

Instead, my girlfriend, who just wanted to have one more child in addition to what she already had ended up having twins. She was surprised, and honestly I was kind of jealous. I had wished that was me. Nevertheless, we are friends, and I was extremely happy for her.

Well, one woman in Texas made history on Valentine’s Day when she broke all chances of being a 1 in 70 million to give birth to two sets of identical twins.

Tressa Montalvo , the 36 years old mother said she and her husband only wanted to have one more child in addition to what they had. They planned the pregnancy, but didn’t use any fertility drugs.  She mentioned that when she was about 10 weeks pregnant, her doctor told her that she would be having twins. But then on a subsequent visit to the doctor’s office, it was detected that there was a third heartbeat.

Later, the couple was told that they were having four babies, and the babies are not quadruplets, but instead two sets of twins.

The odds of delivering two sets of naturally occurring identical twins is somewhere in the range of 1 in 70 million, according to Houston hospital, where the babies were born.

According to the hospital, two boys shared one placenta, and the two other boys shared another placenta.  According to the Tressa, they went by the ABCD theme when they named the boys.

As such the first set of twins who arrived at 8:51am on February 14, and weighed 3 pounds 10 ounces and 3 pounds 15 ounces respectively are named Ace and Blaine. The second set who came in weighing 2 pounds 15 ounces and 3 pounds 6 ounces respectively are named Cash and Dylan.

What a blessing!
