It is no longer breaking news that, Jackie Appiah is the Best Actress on the African continent according to the maiden edition of the AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards which took place at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
After excitingly receiving her statuette, she posed with it alongside Nadia Buari, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Ken Attoh, Stephanie Okereke, Joselyn Dumas, Socrate Safo, Bob Manuel, Roger Quartey, Majid Michel, Samira Yakubu, Fred Nuamah among others.
Jackie edged out Bubu Mazibuko (Man on Ground), Nolwazi Shange (Otelo Burning), Funke Akindele (Maami) and Genevieve Nnaji (The Mirror Boy) to win the award with the movie ‘Perfect Picture’.

It is so sweet to see Nadia Buari out there to share Jackie Appiah’s joy. Though I am not feelin Jackie’s dress since it looks a bit bigger than her, I believe God has blessed her with winnings and she will continue to shine no matter what.
She is the only who lifted Ghana’s flag hire yesterday and I am proud. Of course she won the award with Shirley’s movie so kudos to Shirley Frimpong Manso too

BTW ya’ll know if it was them alone,they would have given that award to genevieve right?? but they couldnt because jackie won best actress with that movie at the AMA Awards…so there’s no way they could give that award to anybody else,cos the AMAA is a prestigious award(just like the oscar) and if she won the amaa,she has to win any award that comes after it……….i knew that was coming,well deserved Jackie,kudos!!
