… Sets record, Wins 16 Prizes

A Nigerian, Tinuade Okoro, has emerged the best graduating medical student in Ghana and scooping, in the process, 16 prizes at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Some of the prizes won by Okoro include the Ghana Medical Association prize for the best overall student in the MB ch.B final part 11 examination; prize for all round best student, sponsored by Ghana Health Service and the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecologists of Ghana prize for the best student in gynacology as well as the R.K Obeng prize for the best student in clinical pharmacology.

Others prizes won by the Nigerian are the Nana Preko Ampem 11 prize for the best student in clinical obstetrics and gynecology; Archampong prize in surgery and Harry Sawyerr prize in medicine and therapeutics among others. In a letter dated February 28, 2013 and signed by Mrs. Selie Ama Baiden of the office of the Ag. Executive Secretary, office of the Dean, College of Health Sciences of the University of Ghana Medical School, it invited her to its congregation/swearing-in-ceremony of newly qualified medical doctors scheduled for March 23 at the Athletic Oval, University of Ghana, Legon.

Born and brought up in Jos, Okoro’s parents are from Ondo State. Her father, Mr. Benjamin Oyedele Okoro, is a retired civil servant while her mother, Mrs. Omotayo Yetunde Okoro, was a nurse till her death in 2004.

Tinuade began her primary school education in 1993 in Plateau Private School, Jos, continued in Rantya Model School, Jos and ended in Camp David Nursery and Primary School, Lagos. Tinuade attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Akure from 1998-2004, following which she completed some computer training while awaiting admission into university. She enrolled at the University of Ghana, Legon in 2006 and was admitted into the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS), Accra in 2007.

Attributing her feat to God’s mercy and hard work, she said: “Structured learning also helped. You cannot just keep reading without a map, hoping to one day finish the material, you never will if you do not plan to!

          • @Big Chief, i thought you were going to say you are the one who won the award, thank God if he were to be in nigeria like BOKO HARAM have blow of his brain already

          • @27cдгibre(Ф_ф), Lol, what are you talking about? You guys have just been celebrating Jackie’s award, not so? Did you win it yourselves? Well Boko Haram did not blow up Jackie and the other Ghanaian celebs who came for the AMVCAs nor have they yet attacked all your actors/actresses who are always in Naija for one movie project or the other, so the BH joke is very stale already; exercise your fertile imagination and find something else to talk about. Well thank God that at least your response was civil this time.

          • @27cдгibre(Ф_ф), Not at all my dear, but even if I was, you have nothing to fear because you have no kidnap value

          • @Big Chief, since you have an experience and you got to know am not the type of people who you guys kidnap is interesting,
But is kidnapping legal in your country because i heard majority of the population do kidnap innocent foreigners for money…

Once again are some of your relatives kidnappers cos you seem experience in it.

      • @Mime,@Nana osei, u guys are dummies-Nigeria made Jackie Appiah who she is,she spends most of her time in Nigeria. U mugus  have NOTHING to be proud of. jackie Appiah is still referred to as a Nollywood actress. Ur poverty striken Ghallywood played no role in her success. #truthhurts

  7. Jackie looks good no doubt but can she learn how to pose as a celebrity? I see the pose being the same. With her height she has utilize her neck more to add to her height and stand straight to increase the height too and make her a little bit slimmer than she his.

    • @Shaolin, I even wonder how many times they’re going to award perfect picture.I even feel Shirley did a better job with Adam’s apples than that one which was done some years ago.Jackie was good in it but enough of it already. We love “swimming” in past glories too much!

      • @Eric, hmmmm. I never said Jackie was bad. I clearly stated she is good. About being the best, well I review movies on my You Tube page, and one thing I always say is that you can never say an Actor or Actress is the best because there is always a competition. dont misunderstand me please.

    • @Johjoh,player hater for life she is the winner and we are happy for her Jackie even looks better in person than in picture, I’m a really big fan of hers and flew all the way from Kano just to see her at the awards  and she was looking like a goddess the pictures the media took didn’t do justice to her because she was glowing that night and even before they called her as the winner everyone fan wanted to take a picture with her while Genevieve and the other stars were standing there idle. Don’t get me wrong people took pictures with genevive but she didn’t get the attention Jackie got when Jackie appeared.

So she’s got this dresses and wore that ugly dress to the award show…

(Now Jackie fans, you can murder me now :P)
