VIDEO: THE RUN UP SHOW-Ending The Whole Nigerians Claiming Azonto As Theirs Debate!

Chris-Vincent

For some days now, GhanaCelebrities.Com’s readers having been going in on Chris Brown for passing on Azonto as a Nigerian thing in his recent BET interview

After going through all the comments from both the Ghanaians and Nigerians on this blog, I have summarized my opinion in a video…

In the video, I talked about whether Wizkid or anyone from his camp actually told Chris Brown Azonto is a Nigerian thing or not…

I also looked at the misconception people have about Azonto, with many thinking Azonto is a national treasure for Ghanaians and whether Nigerians helped in making Azonto popular or not.

  1. Headmaster I couldn’t agree more with you by the way nice T-shirt now back to the topic Azonto a dance where people where the skinny jeans/tight shirts movement being adapted to it also. People like Gyan started doing the dance on the pitch and even the white people where like what kind of dance was that and started mocking it but later on made it popular than people like

Sarkodie Tifanny and fuze odg took it international and made it more popular which the whole world started dancing to it fuse made asians, the whites and all other international dance to it before he came out with a remix feat wyclef Jean the dance became a hit in Jamaica and we all know how Jamaica hAs been on number one with their dance so who are these nigerians to come and claimed it everybody new where the dance came from they need to understand including that koala face wizkid that

The Azonto dance has been in a Ghanian dance for ages but it wasn’t titled as that until now so these Nigerians where just jealous because our dance create so much buzz so they tried to jump in there and make it there own but failed big time in it they could t make their own dance popular so tried to steal ours the question is why I strongly believe that Wizkid informed him that the dance was from Nigeria we all know how Nigerians like to copy cat people things I was even shock to see that they got a 2 PAC movie out I was like what the hell

even if north korea went to war with Nigeria North Korea could never bring their nuclear war threats to Africa. Cause Nigerians will steal all their Nuclear codes before they can say pim. That’s how dangerous Nigerians can be

Let me make it obvious if i come to Nigeria to visit you,you have to teach me one or two things which is originated from Nigeria not some that Nigerians never know the root of or teaching me something from other country like Gambia or Sudan ,it soo wrong why not alanta or the copy version of azonto which is alongo…

Waiting for your next response to my comments! xoxo

  3. It is great Chris has come out to help set things straight. Nigerians did not help make Azonto popular in anyway. They also joined the craze when it was already popular like other nationals did. They are on some rode like any one from any country who likes Azonto, nothing special about any contribution they have done.

And as Chris stated, Azonto is a Ghanaian creation and will forever be so even if you pay Chris Brown to go on the biggest black platform to state it is yours, it won’t change the fact that we all know it is for Ghana.

Nice video and shirt, Chris looking FLY as always lol

I don’t blame you ghanaians, you have created virtually nothing significant,so i can understand how you feel when the little one you have is taken away.
But then i wonder,if Nigeria starts to take offence over any indigenous idea ‘stolen’ from us,we would have to sue the whole of Africa and most parts of the world.

Your internet fraud is even more sophisticated,as you guys even use charms to hoodwink your victims.

I am sure if you were half of Nigeria’s population, you would be ten times worse.
As for your 419 stereotypes,it dosen’t move me.
Serious countries, like china,N.korea, india, russia, even america have their negative stereotypes.
Nobody knows ghana, which is why your image is neither good nor bad.
The day you start pulling your weight in the world, you will be given a stereotype whether you like it or not.
Ghana is insignificant, and you know it.

  9. What is all this nonsense all about. So any dance step people dance now and has Azonto steps in it must be called Azonto or what? Yes the name Azonto is from Ghana but Azonto dance itself is a combination of many dance steps which has been danced before now and one of the law of success states that if you want to be successful in life, you can copy from a successful person what he or she has done, add some spices to it and make it your own. For the fact that a musician dance Azonto step with some other steps and called it a different name is not a problem and can never be a problem. Secondly Nigerian never claim they own Azonto, it is u guys that are just wasting ur precious time on this nonsense. Have u guys ever hear Psquare comment on it NO, they wont because they are too busy and more over is a business world because they know that they have never said they own Azonto because they knows that such topic is not relevant and is a distraction to the road of there success. How many musician has also comment on it in Ghana only Samini, you know why they wont because they know how success works and they also know the rules of the game called success itself.

Hahahahaha, butthurt ghanians , miyagi , 27 calibre and co , I quite understand how u feel about Nigeria cos its exactly the way I feel about manchester united football club, I don’t miss an opportunity to throw insults on the club on football blogs, I so much preach the fact that they are favoured by referees and so on, but deep down me it doesn’t take away the frustrations of feeling that they overshadow my beloved chelsea fc, infact they are so far ahead to give a damn about my insults cos it doesn’t stop them from winning trophies year in year out. So I think we are in the same shoes here mehn, hahahahhahahahaha sorrry u feel overshadowed by naija and if venting ur frustrations here do make u feel a little better then am happy for u guys, but like AFRICA’s RAPPER number 1(MI ABAGA) said ” the Super Eagles don’t play against the Falcons”, neither do the blacks stars play against the black queens, so please we don’t give a f**k about ur frustrations, find someone in ur league (togo, benin, sierria lone etc) and compete with ok lol, Nigeria talks with South Africa and Egypt period. Use that same youtube or google to search for “eko atlantic city”.*big grin*. Makoko is the slum where Rick Ross shot his video. “Hold me back”

          Reply
          • @Tai, do I look like I care even if rick Ross moved up there, It is pathetic that none of your artistes wants to be poor people’s voice, rather they want to build a castle. the only artist that once shot a video there was “Eedris Abdulkareem” I thank him for letting him see the poverty in Nigeria cause he kept it real yet most of you albino chimpanzees talk if you got it all in Nigeria a “rich country, Poor people” poverty is everywhere if Nigeria was so rich wouldn’t you guys had stay back home instead of trying to move abroad? Or do 419?

Why do you people like to live in deception? some of you claim Nigerians are doing so well portraying Nigeria? Before Rick Ross, Nigeria had a bad rep. After Rick Ross, Nigeria will still have a bad rep. Complain about the corruption, leaders, and materialism done by your fellow Nigerians first. What about the 419ers emailing everyone they can abroad trying to dupe people for money? Nigeria is a joke and a byword to many foreigners abroad.

It’s your job as Nigerians to show the good side and the culture of Nigeria, not some useless rapper. Who is Rick Ross anyway? However, people cannot pretend there are no problems in Nigeria. I don’t think Nigeria can be made to look worse than it already does.

It is a delusion of grandeur to think the world gives a damn about Nigeria when we you Nigerians don’t. It’s just thought by the world to be another poor black, African country stuck in the dark ages ravaged by one disaster or another this is what the any outsider would think visiting Nigeria. From the moment you land at the airport till you reach your destination, your just outdated. Once again It’s your job as Nigerians to change that. Even the best Nigeria has to offer has a long way to improve by global standards. Nigerians are getting angry because they can’t handle the truth. Yes, Nigeria needs improvement. Perhaps it is good to see the country from another perspective for a change. Rick Ross, my ass both Ghana and Nigeria have their ups and downs but you ain’t better than nobody you guys needs to accept the act that Azonto made it to the top same way Nigerians can make Alingo go to the top so think about that and not some Rick Ross who shot a video in Makoko and will be making money out of it

          • @Tai, fankGod for d internet….i tot there is no slum in d whole of ghana…..so there is a ”sodom n gomorahh” ,a slum in accra…….even makoko is even beta sef…..just google slums in ghana n u go open mouth……..som irrelevant peeps wud want us to bliv na onli naija get slum….na wa ooo

Damn what a sad day to begin with is this in Nigeria Ghanaian have a slum but not this ,

          This is an eyesore.

    Well said bright.
I have always loved Ghana & her people until I visits GC and see how bitter they are about their Big Brother Nigeria, to the extent of comparing the two sister country. WTF!
I was in a Naija gathering when I said to them that *gaynaians* are crying over chris brown calling azonto nigerian thingy, they were like; trolololololol… these people are jobless o, who doesn’t know azonto is from ghana except CB. And their blogger keeps referring to this to the extent of making a video about it, height of joblessness. Anyway I don’t blame him he’s a good blogger knowing fully well that nigerian news will traffics his blog.
A question to ghanaians, is Nigeria ur nightmare?
The last time I checked, I learnt that tha Ga people of greater accra & Ewe has their origin related to Yorubas of Nigeria, which means we are suppose to be brothers as I have always taken you.

Brooklyn, New York (Motherboard.tv) — Ghana is doing extremely well by African standards. Of course “by African standards” means there are dirt roads leading past the brand-new, gold-columned presidential palace, and it seems 1 percent of the country is blowing their country’s GDP at bars with $50 cover charges while the other 99 is selling bags of water at stop lights. They have huge mineral reserves and lots of foreign money invested in their extraction, all of which ends up concentrated in the hands of the president, his cabinet, and whichever of their cousins they’re getting along with at the time.

The Ghanaian government likes to boast that their unemployment rate is in the single digits and they’re creating millions of new jobs a year specifically targeting the youth bulge, but when you pull up a pile of rubble and sit down with a member of said bulge, the story seems a lot less cheery. The actual unemployment rate for 15- to 24-year-olds hovers between 25 and 30 percent and unless you’re a relative or close friend of someone in the ruling class, you can look forward to a long and fruitful career in water sales.

But Ghana also has a reasonably sophisticated technology infrastructure and has declared itself the “Internet Capital of West Africa,” which is kind of archly tragic because right now the internet is the only thing keeping the kids at bay.

During Nigeria’s oil boom in the 70s, Ghanaians flooded into the country to take guest worker jobs. Within 10 years they’d worn out their welcome and were deported en mass back to Ghana, but not before they’d picked up a popular local pastime: the Nigerian “pen pal scam.” The way it works is you become pen pals with some dolt in America or Britain, bitch about how hard your life is in Africa, then wait for them to send you money and presents.

As computers made their way into the continent, the scam was adapted to e-mail and gradually evolved into the rainbow of weird phishing messages from state treasurers and estate managers and plane-crash lawyers that crowd your inbox every morning. And as scammers got hungrier for bigger pickins, they hooked up with hacker-types from the U.S. and Europe who taught them basic credit card fraud, which they combined with the playacting of the e-mail scam to create increasingly elaborate — and profitable — superscams. Then for some reason they combined all of this with black magic, and that’s how Sakawa was born.

In the same way that hip-hop went from a music style into a descriptor for everything from pants to dancing to potato chips, Sakawa (which originally referred to a specific credit card scam) now means pretty much anything involving money — if you wear a bunch of flashy brand-name clothes you’re dressing “Sakawa,” if you’ve got a nice car it’s a “Sakawa” car — all of which makes sense considering internet scamming is the only way most Ghanaians can afford this.

Right now Sakawa is in its salad days. The Sakawa Boys movie franchise has made it up to “Sakawa Boys 8,” Juju priests are making a killing enchanting e-mails, Christian preachers are making a killing complaining about enchanted e-mails, and Ghanaians of all ages and interests (but mostly “young” and “not being poor”) are packed into internet cafes finding more and more ingenious ways of ripping off Westerners.

While a lot of Sakawa practitioners have cooked up elaborate post-colonial justifications where they’re just getting the white man back for taking all their gold, a few, like our guide Seva, see Sakawa for what it really is: a massive bubble just waiting to burst. As Ghana overtakes freaking Nigeria as the e-fraud capital of the world, the government is scrambling to find a way to keep Sakawa from wrecking the country’s business reputation without cutting off an entire young generation from their sole source of steady revenue. And just to make things more interesting, Ghana just discovered oil .HOW TELL WHERE IS THE HEADQUARTERS OF 419. that is from CNN http://edition.cnn.com/2011/TECH/web/04/05/motherboard.ghana.sakawa/index.html. THEY SAY YOU GUYS NOW LEADS US(in 419 only) LOL, HOLY GHANA, talk to you later.

  25. I can go on and on to list out this common African problem, its so bad that some dude here tends to insult and abuse Nigerian on things that be found in their own country too, some one once said you have more poor people in Nigeria than in otherAfrican country, the person even used world bank stats to lay claims, i was laughing, it is normal the same way Nigeria leads in terms of riches so also she has poor people. And for record sake. poverty is everywhere: some guys seem to forget about the ONE DIRECTION issue, or did they import those KIDS from Nigerian? If you what to point at Nigerian make sure your country is not guilty too. they were even calling makoko and forgot obout eko Atlantic city. Pls we are all matured let stick to the topic pls.
