Samini On Horse

Though you do not have to be a Rastafarian to wear dreadlocks, the fact that dreads are very much seen on famous Rastafarians have thrown out the misconception that, all dread wearing individuals are Rastafarians…

In an attempt to clarify things and define his position, Ghanaian dancehall artistes-Samini has stated in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that; “even though many people think I am a Rastafarian, I’m not. My dreadlocks is just a mark of my identity in showbiz and a part of my branding as an artiste.”

He also mentioned that; “I am keeping my dreadlocks for the rest of my life because, it is African, it is masculine and it symbolizes strength”.

The newspaper writes;

Samini’s dreadlocks look good on him just as his physique which must be the envy of many men, and an attraction to many women. Samini knows that because often he bares it all during performances.

Talking about how he feels when women scream and touch his chest on stage, he said “it really feels good when women rub their hands on my chest. I call for it because ninety percent of my songs are romance-related so I take responsibility for all that and of course when I do that in public it is pure love, no strings attached”.

Responding to a question about how he handles his numerous lady fans, he said “I do not mind or have a problem with people calling me a Ladies Man because I give the ladies what they want and sometimes I go the extra mile to give them more”.

The “akye saa” singer in a sentence, described himself as a bubbling guy who respects women a lot and would not take advantage of people. He also revealed that he has four kids: three girls and a boy.

Expressing his view on the recent brouhaha that was created over his diss song on P. Square’s Alingo song, the MOBO winner said it was a necessary gesture. About the perceived snub by P. Square, he said that the duo’s silence demonstrated a sign of maturity. “I am not surprised that they didn’t react because if it was me, I would not react either”

Samini also revealed in the interview that one thing he hates about himself was procrastination over other to-do things beside his music. “When it is time for my music I do not have time for any other thing” he said.

He went on to say that he has been busy since the beginning of this year doing a global mix tape on which he will have coves of hit beats that he likes and has also been working on his fifth album, doing singles, videos and is working on a new artiste on the block named Kofi Kanaata who hails from Takoradi.

In conclusion he said “people should watch out for more exclusive collaborations and I am working on a US, Australia and UK tour. I have got more goodies that would thrill people and blow their minds.”
