What If A Female President Runs The Affairs Of Ghana?

map of Ghana

Every/majority of Ghanaians have a diagnosis of what and why the country is at a standstill but interesting enough, we never find a cure for the ‘diseases’ we diagnose. Even if a cure is found, we go through the cheap and easier way – talk, talk, write and take no action. What if we go through the channel of having a female president (oh no, I don’t mean Akua Donkor)?

Most of the male Presidents and Heads of States we’ve had in the past just ‘raped’ the country with impunity and abandoned it like a child. After shamelessly raping ‘us’, they earn ambassadorial positions and point accusing fingers at the ‘latest kid or would-be rapist on the block’ as if they were any better – trying to score points for their failures.

Majority of our male politicians have failed woefully and I think we should give females a chance to govern the country.  We now live in a free for all world (maybe)—the playing field is being levelled.

The corrupt governments make the legislature arm an epitome of corruption, they corrupt the police, the army, the custom and they have subdued our pressmen/women to submissions that we now get adulterated news against their conscience.

Women are not dwarfs intellectually and since the political game is not a thing of physical strength (think General Mosquito), they equally have a chance of wrestling with the male counterparts for the presidency not just MPs and ministers.  We cannot keep on trying a faulting engine when we have brand new ones in our women.

All areas of life will be greatly improved especially employment, healthcare and education (the backbone of every healthy nation) if a woman is given the chance—-I believe.  Infant mortality rates will drop considerably. With the understanding and motherly nature of women, the poor and suffering citizens will be properly taken care of. No taking from the poor to the rich. Woe betides rapists, paedophiles and wife barterers especially if the female president has suffered abuse before.

But before we give the mantle of leadership to women we must first cleanse ourselves from the polluted air of bribery and corruption by our male politicians before we also get swallowed up. Furthermore, we must restructure our political system, change our kickback mentality and ethnic mind-sets and then try a female president, and who says that she cannot do better?

What a man can do, a woman can do better. What is impossible is that which has not been tried. It is not impracticable to have a female President in Ghana. Male politicians have tried since independence till today without any tangible results if not epidemic corruption.  A woman is capable. Some male politicians are abstract thinkers and that is why they are only theoretically powerful and pragmatically failures.

Let the men pack and go, our women are ready for the rescue mission. Let us put a square peg in a square hole because people are judged based on performance and not merely on self-praise that is synonymous with presidents in Ghana.  Who will take up the mantle then?

Maybe the only downside – more money will be allocated in the budget towards building factories to manufacture more Brazilian wigs/hair, but at least it will create jobs for the masses.
