Still The Best: Jackie Appiah Beats Genevieve Nnaji Once Again To Win Best Actress At Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards- NAFCA

Jackie Appiah (5)I hate to say this but it seems on the Awards radar, Jackie Appiah is far better than Nigerian actress- Genevieve Nnaji.

Once again, the Ghanaian star actress came face to face with Genevieve Nnaji over who wins the ‘Best Actress at Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards’ and Jackie Appiah smoothly cleared Genevieve off—winning the award.

The ‘Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards(NAFCA)’ also known as Africa’s Oscar  took place over the weekend at a red-carpet event in Washington D.C, at Warner Theatre.

It was not only Genevieve Nnaji that Jackie Appiah cleared off the way to the win the award, she picked the award for Best Actress in a leading role by also beating Beverly Naya, Iretiola Doyle and  Mbufung Seikeh…

Can we say Jackie Appiah is for sure the BEST Nollywood and Gollywood have?

      • @Nanya martinson, Jackie takes harder roles than genevieve. I watched Jackie as well in Grooms bride when she spoke like a gambian and it was perfect meanwhile aunty Genevieve also played a gambian in mirror boy and was talking like a nigeria. Which was a big No No. So jacki goes out of her way to act.

    • I think Jackie deserves all the awards than Genevieve. Genevive is Past Glory. Love Appiah  she is a good actress I watched her play a Gambian in one movie like that and she spoke exactly like a Gambian. Genevieve also played a Gambian in Mirror boy and her accent was Nigerian the normal way she talks in all her movies. That is when I knew jacky was a better actress

      • @Carla, the movie Jackie spoke like a Gambian is called Grooms Bride and she really did justice to the role. Also watched mrs Nnanji in mirror boy and she didn’t go all out to speak like a Gambian. So I agree with you @carla

      • @Carla,
Point of correction, Jackie was trying hard to speak the Gambian accent but she never p.a.s.s.ed for it b’coz she still sounded complete GHanaian. And don’t delude urself about Jackie being better than Gene coz wen Gen was Gene Jackie was a nobody. Jackie needed that award most, vb’coz the awards Gene has claimed is nothing compared hers…n gene is still claiming lots of awards upon awards. She’s been on CNN, BBC, Oprah Winfrey’, n soooo many huge countless interviews, n has been internationally named as one of the 100 most influential women in the world…Genevieve is a made LEGEND n Jackie is an uprising star. So plz never ever in ur life compare this two; it feels too defying to the beauty of truth!

  6. Nigeria movie industry(Nollywood) is the 3rd largest industry in the world both in quality and rate of production. Nollywood is really making kenke eaters celebrities popular, before a ghanian actor/actress can be popular in Africa, he/she has to dive into nollywood. Haba, is there any movie industry in Ghana? If yes, please what is it called? Genevieve is far better better than jackie appiah just that genevieve is not been active these days, and atleast a kenke eater celebrities should get an award. Kenya movie industry if far better than Ghanian movie industry…haba, shame nor dey catch una?

      • @ato, Jackie is the best and plays challenging characters. Look at Jackie in princess Tyra she was superb. Jackie isnt afraid to look ugly for a role. But gen Nnanji always wants roles she must polish her face. Jackie you more than deserve the award

  8. Well Jackie’s facial expression is A plus which we all know but certainly not the best actress. How can you compare Genevieve’s natural acting roles to Jackie? You must be kidding rite? Go back and watch above the law, valentino, sharon stone and all her old movies. Please she’s just retiring and that doesn’t mean she’s bad. Jackie do get roles cos of her beauty and thats just it. Please spare us your favoritism. Jackie i love you so much but truth must be told, you a great actress and not the best. Congratulations on your awards, you made us proud.
