It Is Time To Let Go THAT Belly Fat

belly fat

Just the other day, I was on Facebook when I came across a status update from a friend of mine… It cracked me up bad but after the giggles it really made me think.

Why have we conditioned our minds to think that it’s sexy to have a bulging belly with no bun in the oven? It cuts across both genders but I’ll focus on the ladies.

I remember not being a particularly skinny child but I was brought up to walk with my tummy tucked and my back straight. It’s not exactly what you would call a work out plan but it helped tons, not just my posture but to trim my tummy down. Call it a force of habit but there’s no flab in my midsection!

These days though, our Ghanaian ladies, more commonly so, the younger ones, flaunt their bulge with rare pride, wearing crop tops and body clinging outfit that makes you just want to cringe. It is honestly not a pretty sight.

Don’t get me wrong here, I don’t have anything against being curvaceous or as Beyonce would say, “bootylicious”.

Ghanaian celebrities like Joselyn Dumas, Ama K. Abebrese and even Becca have enviable curves. There are guys that like their women exactly how they like their meals – BIG! But I am very sure I would be speaking for most guys if I say, there is absolutely nothing attractive about a protruding stomach.

Being pregnant is one thing, extending that “pregnancy” for the rest of your life and wearing it with such confidence is a whole new ball game.

Please hit the gym! If you can’t afford it, go online! There is an abundant supply of videos and workout plans on YouTube. I know you Facebook over 10 times a day so you don’t have an excuse.

Not only is it unattractive, it has its health complications too. Research has shown that you could be a very likely candidate for hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, sleep problems, cancer (Yes I said it), stroke and a list of other degenerative diseases! To cut it short – an early grave! It’s not worth it, believe me.

The normal waistline for women should not be 35 inches and above. For men, the limit is 40 inches so if you fall into this category, you have work to do!

Stop addressing the witches in your family and look down to what is blocking you from seeing the ground! Eat healthy and make time for exercise. A little goes a long way.

You would be amazed at how AMAZING you would feel and look. Start now!
