POLITRICKS OF THE DAY: President Mahama Says To Ghanaians: ‘Stop Complaining; God Has Blessed Us’

President Mahama Sipping

In a time like this, although I do not hate the president, I find his comment really irritating and in bad taste.

If he was a local man on the streets, he would not have the nerve to further aggravate people’s nerves at a time like this. Maybe he would appreciate the suffering of the people more.

Politicians in Ghana think they are omnipotent?—too much goofing. Just after the minister of Petroleum and Energy  Kofi Buah told us ‘Turn your lights off, if electricity is expensive’, the president of Ghana John Mahama has thrown his own stones at Ghanaians.

I find the presidents utterances to the economic plight of people totally insensitive. How do you tell us not to complain? As if we are all swimming in a lap of political luxury. I think at this point the only people who manage to smile are politicians only.

Who manages the president’s communication? The president’s communication team needs to sit up! I will repeat this anywhere. His communication is grossly mismanaged.

From publicly declaring the increase of football bonuses from his own mouth in the middle of labour strikes and unrests to telling Ghanaians to stop complaining! I am not amused.

After saying this, the president added that he is confident Ghana will come out of it difficulties in due season just as developed nations like the United States of America and England. He explained that the developed nations also went through such hurdles but later overcame them—-he said this at a thanksgiving service in his honour at the Star of The Sea Catholic Church yesterday.

His exact words for you….

“Whilst we pray let us look for the opportunities that God is opening for us, and we find that those opportunities change our lives. God’s hand is up for the people of Ghana, and if we only recognize that his hand is up for us and we stop complaining…[if] we join hands together and believe that our country can be a better place, it will be a better place for us.”

He indicated that while many Ghanaians perceived the country as a failed state, about 40 non Africans were just last week arrested for living here illegally.

“Where everyone wants to go, they also see that is a large opportunity and want to live here illegally. They see something here that probably we don’t see, and it is only when we see what God has done for us that he will continue to bless us.”

President Mahama asserted: “I am an optimist and I believe sincerely that this country, in the next several years, will be a shining star in Africa, I pledged to you selfless leadership.”

God huh? Using the mass religious nature of Ghanaians to blackmail them? Haha.  And you know why there are illegal immigrants in Ghana? Because it is easy for foreigners to commit crime and get away with it!!

Yes he spoke well as he did during elections to establish his communication background. But kindly appreciate, understand and sympathize with the citizenry. Also, control the impudent/insensitive jabs at the people who voted for you Mr President!
