Ahead Of December 6 ‘Back in the Day’ Concert, Let’s Look At Reggie Rockstone!

Reggie Rockstone
Reggie Rockstone

Despite his inherent ‘show-offness’, he is not just called the Grandpapaz for nothing—he started a whole music genre which has become the strongest in Ghana, called Hiplife…

From where some of us sit, Hiplife has become more than a musical genre. It is not far from a movement or a lifestyle as it has its own unique & intriguing identity.

Reggie Rockstone (real name Reginald Osei) was born in United Kingdom but it may have been his subsequent stay in United States of America which sparked the whole Hiplife movement in him.

Riding on the back of the then Hip Hop culture which he was over exposed to, Reggie succeeded in knitting a genre so close to Hip Hop in one sense but so far from it in terms of style, language and audience…

Like most movements, it started at isolated corners—unnoticed. But it is said that, by 1994, Reggie Rockstone had attained a huge following—and had succeeded in choking the millions of Ghanaians with what at the time was seen as having no future…

I hate to look at the many awards Reggie Rockstone has won because that is not the perfect indication of his achievements. For the best outlook at his accomplishment, just think HIPLIFE!

How To Make SMOOTHIES | GC Staff Writer Has The Easy Steps For You!

fruit-smoothies1

I recently found out that smoothies are without question one of the best food ideas of the last century! Don’t let the fancy name fool you; there really isn’t anything extraordinary about making one… Yes, I said making one! You don’t need to buy it if you know how to make it!

But that’s not all the upside to this yummy invention (Bless his heart, whoever thought of the idea) not only is it incredibly healthy, it can also be a delicious “forbidden” treat! So, whether you’re trying to lose some baby fat or gain a few pounds, it’s your best bet! It’s all about what goes into it!

Now I know nobody ever needs a manual on how to gain weight (it’s a lot easier to put on than to lose) so let your imagination run wild with the junk if that’s the line you are towing. I will however concentrate on making healthy smoothies and why they are good for you.

Smoothies are surprisingly easy to make at home. All you need is a blender, nothing fancy, a few inexpensive food items, and almost anyone can make a smoothie.  And you don’t have to pay a ton of money to get one either. Here’s how it’s done.

First add your liquid – The liquid is considered the base of your smoothie, and it can greatly affect how your smoothie tastes, so choose wisely.  Depending on your diet, you can add quite a number of things as a liquid for your smoothie. You can add water if you have nothing else, but there are lots of other ideas to try out. Milk is one of the most popular choices, as is coconut milk (that is blending both coconut and water to paste), coconut water, tea and coffee. Also, fruit juice of any kind is good if you want an extra sweet base.

Akon Responds To Allegation Of Discriminating Against DARK Skinned Models in Ghana

Akon

After Akon ‘s recent video shoot in Ghana with Nigeria’s Wizkid and Banky W, it emerged that the Senegalese born American based rapper joined hands with some modelling agencies to discriminate against dark skinned models who they had initially requested…

After the video shoot, some dark skinned models alleged that Akon and Wizkid requested through the various modelling agency that they do not want them (dark skinned models) anymore—-but wanted light skinned ones, preferably mixed race models.

The insult on the dark skinned models was aggravated by subsequent request that, if they know of any light skinned young girls, they should kindly supply their details or call them over…If you did not read our report on the issue, CLICK HERE to read it

A photog of celebrity blog-TMZ caught up with Akon who was rolling up to Bootsy Bellows in West Hollywood to find out if the above really did happen and he said NO…

But then, what else do we expect him to say? We guess when the video for the song- Roll It comes out, we can make some deductions as to which models were used…
