The ‘Act/Theatrics’ Of Falling Under The ‘Anointing’- Why Is The Pastor Pushing My Head So I Will Fall? | GC Staff Writer Shares Her Experience

black woman

Christians love to belong to a church pastored by a powerful man of God – that is a fact. Either a very good ‘miracle worker’, ‘teacher’ or an extremely good seer in the name of a prophet and we love the supernatural so we are being fed with anything supernatural. Most of these pastors also love to show us their power G(g)od has gifted to them but to those who have not been gifted with those powers, everything and anything from gymnastics down to hypnosis is used to convince their followers that they also have the power.

I had the ‘privilege’ of receiving the ‘anointing’ through an invitation to another church and it was not pleasant at all. The anointing I received was that of physical abuse. The pastor hits the forehead hard and pushes with the aim of falling. It seems the harder I resisted the falling, the more pressure was exerted. There I knew that, all the falling (what else can I say?) I have witnessed from afar was an act without the involvement of the ‘Holy Spirit’. What demons at all do people possess?

After the service, my overly excited ‘Holy spirit filled’ friend asked how the service was if I noticed how the power of God was moving? I just smiled because knowing how we get all defensive and emotional when it comes to religious issues – that was the best answer at that point in time. People ‘falling’ under the spirit when touched by a pastor  is not alien to me –  had never experienced it but seen it on TV where people fall when a pastor either waves his hand, his expensive looking jacket or touching people and they fall over themselves.

When did God become an abuser of persons? I cannot dispute it when people say/claim they fall under the anointing (as I got to know it is called slain in the spirit) but not the way this fine man of God was doing, because it seems the man was assisting the ‘Holy Spirit’ to show its power by pushing with the sole purpose of falling down. At least, they’re a bit caring because there were ‘macho men’ on hand to assist in the falling without getting hurt.

I have experienced big miracles without the presence of a pastor so I don’t need one to show me the power of God. I thought things of God cannot be explained so if I can explain how my anointing was being imparted to me…then sorry that is not godly. It is unfortunate that people look to such bizarre counterfeits that produce no spiritual fruit, rather than pursuing the practical fruit which the Spirit gives us for the purpose of glorifying Christ with our lives. Being filled with the Spirit is not evidenced by such counterfeits and theatrics.

But come to think of it, why doesn’t the camera man who captures all the gymnastics on camera do not fall when the Holy Spirit visits….or they don’t deserve the anointing? And if you are not lucky, you will find the man of God touching certain wrong places…

What has your experience been with the head pushing of Pastors and the Holy Ghost visitation which leads to falling?

  1. I thought i was the only one who  held the idea that these people are pushed. You see people falling and like what is happening? I am particularly wary of some of these pastors touching me all in the name of impartation. As the writer said, it is all theatrics and gymnastics. To answer the question as to why the camera man does not fall…If he falls, who will put the evidence on video that the pastor is a ‘powerful’ man of God. lol

  2. i remember i was invited to a church yrs ago….i felt like i did not belong to that place…that i better find a different church to go to…i was new in town and had heard about this church….it felt like i was being expected to fall….i cant fake things like this in Gods house….but with what was going on and being pushed and expected to fall, i fell…just to avoid being accused of something or whatever….not just me, but some people shock me with their holy spirit and all these falls….some just fall shout and within a second they are acting like nothing happened…i dont know how it feels like but it will be a blessing to feel Gods presence and blessings on me….between me and God

    • @missy, U know Galatians 5:22-23 discusses the fruitage of the spirit and all that dramatic display is not of it. So those r the characteristics that people with the holy spirit should display, not acting. Hope u get some comfort with that scriptures n pray for God to help u display those characteristics

      • @Ama, thanks for the scripture….it is beautiful….now Imnot going to judge myself from not falling or feel left out in church cos others are falling…now and then I’m quite sure I’ve felt the holy spirit on me… It’s hard to describe with words….some of us have been preoccupied with falling that we ha e forgotten of what Galatians 5 says

  3. Hmmmmmmm, am not gonna judge anyone’s church but this is part of the reasons why i love Methodist church and if God permits, i will attend it till i die….because neither the Very Reverend or Reverend pushes people to fall down… we are taught that u can experience the anointing of God not only by falling down…I have never experienced the pushing of forehead to fall down before but i didnt fall down though…
