According to The Stateman;

The 20112 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reminded the leadership and membership of the party about the responsibility they have to make sure that in 2016 “we don’t have a court case or a false declaration.

In an apparent reference to the election petition that challenged the declaration of John Dramani Mahama as winner of the 2012 elections, Nana Akufo-Addo admonished his party faithful to ensure the ballot is protected in 2016 while making sure that the right declaration of the winner is made by the Electoral Commissioner to forestall any challenge of the declaration in the law courts.

He gave the advice when he delivered a speech at dinner organized by the Young Executive Forum in London.

According to Nana Addo, “It is clear that our opponents are good at being declared winners of elections but are bad at governing our nation. It means that whatever it takes, we have to make sure that at the next election, not only do we win it but are actually declared the winners. That is the responsibility before us.”

On the incompetence displayed by the Mahama-led NDC government, Nana Addo said: “I think it is obvious to all of us here tonight that our opponents or competitors for political power are incapable of running our country well.”

“We have inside and outside our party, the men and women who can put our country on a really solid path of development and transformation. We have a responsibility to ourselves, the people of Ghana and to posterity, to make sure that come what may, in 2016, we don’t have a court case or a false declaration.”

Nana Addo told the gathering that the need for the NPP to win power in 2016 emanates from the agenda of transforming Ghana.

“I want all of you to put your minds to the things that we need to do to modernize and transform our country. That is the goal. The goal is not the power and being called President or Minister. It is the transformation of our nation, bringing it up to join the comity of modern, developed and prosperous nations. That is the goal. That is the mission and let us work harder than ever to make that happen,” he stressed.

  1. If Nana Addo was my father I would advice him not to run again. Foolish stupid ghanaians who vote base on tribe, persons fake humility (like mills) skin tone (like rawlings)or height only (like mahama), anf not base on improving economic issues don’t deserve neither him or economist bawumia. I hope that useless thief mahama stays on for 30 yrs like mugabe, so that he continues to steal from ghanaians and ghanaian s suffer 100 times more than 19 yrs under rawlings ndc regime. Nkwasiafuor, now before u r complaining. You havent seen anything yet. May u all suffer deeply under mahama for 30 more years.
