Getting nominated for Grammys is a big deal but attending or being present at the Award Show is nothing much—yet our various African Celebrities who made it this year are making it seem it is one hell of a big achievement.

In fact, you can attend the Grammys easily and walk on the red carpet too…You can even become an Academy member and if you do not want that, you can simply buy tickets on eBay to attend…

If you want to attend the next Grammys, That1960Chick.Com has taken time to break down the steps you may need to follow to make this happen;

If you haven’t been nominated in order to receive an invitation to the Grammy Awards, you need to be an associate or voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

To become a member all you have to do is apply (yes it’s as simple as visiting the official Grammys site, download the form, fill and return it by post!

To qualify to become an associate member, send a business card or letterhead explaining your involvement in the recording industry.

In order to qualify to be a voting member, you need the endorsement of two existing voting members (those who went this year are probably members so if your are nice to them, they can recommend you )

Barring a recommendation you should have credit on at least six tracks on an album released commercially in the United States (most Nigerian acts have released their albums on iTunes so they more than qualify) The album must have been released for sale in between Oct. 1 and Aug. 31 of the eligibility year for the Grammy Awards you wish to attend.

After you’ve completed the above steps wait four to six weeks after your acceptance into the Academy to receive your membership card. Payment dues for the academy are just $100 a year, $180 for two years and $260 for three years.

Wait for your invitation to arrive in December. Tickets are limited and are on a first come, first served basis, so you need to act fast. Nominees who are members of the Academy can request two complimentary tickets. Non-member nominees may request one complimentary ticket.
