New Music Video: ‘Same Girl’ By Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer-Lopez-Same-Girl

From BeyondGossip.Com

Jennifer Lopez wants her fans to know she is still the Queen of the streets. In her new music video for the song-Same Girl, J.Lo takes her fans back to her old hood…

In the video, Jennifer Lopez takes us on a visual tour to life those days, kicking it in her old stomping grounds, while rocking a fitted, and even rides the trains just as she did before she acquired mega success.

This is what she had to say about the video;

This was probably the craziest thing I’ve done in my career of music and movies. I called my girlfriends and some photographer friends.  We just grabbed a camera, jumped on the train, left the city, and ran around the Bronx.  We found some interesting places that captured the essence of what it was like to live there and made me remember the simplicity of the life I used to have there. The rest was real life.[…]I like just being able to do things spontaneously, and not having everything so planned out. I understand why people like doing it, because it’s fun.  And it’s creative and it’s spontaneous, which is what art should be.”

She added;

It’s important to know where you’re from so you can see where you are going.

Kwaw-Kese
Kwaw Kese

The long-lasting feud between Kwaw Kese and his colleague musician, Kontihene, seems to be gaining grounds again…

Kontihene’s recent assertion on Okay FM that he was better than Kwaw Kesse in terms of grooming, beauty, and so on has compelled Kwaw to respond, describing Kontihene as a woman.

According to Kwaw Kese, why would a man say he is more handsome than his fellow man? To him, this is a trait of women and that of gays.

Funny enough, he accepted the fact that he is ugly. He even went ahead to declare that a man was created to be fearful and that is why he looks as such.

SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD: Husband Burns Wife and Her Baby Daughter to Death Because He Wanted a Son

Burnt mother and baby in India

It is sad that even up to date, giving birth to girls at certain parts of the world is still considered a waste—as girls are deem not to be of much benefit.

Apart from the below story, I listened to a programme which recently aired on BBC and it was unbelievable to learn that girls were being totally disregarded by their fathers and in some instances sold out for some few coins in India.

However, boys were cherished and given the necessary education and love from both parents.

According to MailOnline;

A young Indian mother has been burned to death along with her infant daughter by her husband and in-laws for failing to pay dowry.

Police in eastern Indian state of Jharkhand said 22-year-old Annu Devi was set ablaze while she was breastfeeding her daughter.

They have now arrested her husband, Gunjan Masat, who allegedly poured fuel over Devi and her baby daughter before setting them on fire.

According to Raghuni Rana, Devi’s father, the couple were happily married for more than a year, but problems started after Ms Devi gave birth to a baby girl.

On Friday 31st Jan, 2013, host of the Taxi Driver programme on Hitz 103.9 fm, Blakk Rasta interviewed Nigerian film director Frank Raja on what the latter think of the current state of Ghana’s movie industry.

Full name Frank Arase Raja, came to Ghana in the early 2000s through Ghanaian revered filmmaker, Abdul Salam of Venus Films. Asked how he got into the industry and how he came to Ghana to start directing movies, Frank said “well I started producing and directing movies in Nigeria. Abdul Salam who is a marketer, used to market few of my movies here in Ghana.

“First it was Samira Yakubu the costumier who invited me to Ghana for the shooting of the movie ‘Official Prostitute’ with the late Suzzy Williams. Abdul met with me again and he was like I love what you have been doing, I’ve sold a couple of your movies and so I think you and I could do something.

“It died out after I went back to Nigeria but he called me back later, bought me ticket, we discussed on what to do with the Ghanaian film industry. We discussed money, signed contract and we took off and from there, we’ve worked till date.

PHOTOS From The Premiere of Announcement + My Take On The Movie!

IMG_2617
Director of the movie-Evelyn Robinson and actor-Adjetey Anang

It was a night full of excitement and a bit of laughter. I can still envisage how each and everyone in the auditorium stayed glued to their seats and never wanted to miss any scene from the movie which was premiered last night at the National Theatre.

Wonderful! Amazing! Exciting! Stunning! These are but few of the words the audience used to describe the movie. If I’m giving the opportunity to describe it in one word, then I guess I would have to talk to the Queen of England for her to endow me with the precise English word to employ.

“I thought I was coming to the theatre to just watch a movie and entertain myself, not knowing I was coming to watch an intelligent film like this. This is like Nikita.” Those were the exact words of a gentleman who sat close to me in the auditorium.

The movie under discussion is “Announcement”, which features David Dontoh, Amandah Jissih, Adjetey Anang, Doris Sackitey, Fred Amugi, Kafui Danku, and others. It was directed by Evelyn Robinson.

The Plot

In the movie, Harriet, the eleven year old daughter of Rev. Martin Sam was kidnapped by Samuel Mama, a young man who managed to break out of prison seven years into his life sentence.

Samuel Mama demands that Rev. Sam makes a public announcement that he-Rev Sam committed the crime for which he Samuel Mama was imprisoned if he wants his daughter alive. How will the reverend handle this? How will the church deal with the shocking news?

Who Said ‘TWEAA’? Lesson Learnt!

so-who-said-tweaa-

The Who Said ‘Tweaa’? story plus its associate funny posts which have for some time now gone viral on the social media is one incident we can take a cue from. Nevertheless, this piece is neither to condemn the victim nor to scorn the incident, rather to make an exposition so we learn a lesson or two.

A good look at the video indicates that the District Chief Executive who angrily  stormed out of the durbar did so as a result of a remark made by an unidentified person (hence the question, “Who said ‘Tweaa’?”).

He fumes, ‘Am I your co-equal?’, ‘If you’re a hospital worker, who are you?’ and other utterances I find very unwholesome – POOR CONTROL OF TEMPER.
