In the above photo Joselyn shared, her power was at work, making her fitness instructor not only confused but stand totally upright under his short—that is if we ain’t making a mistake…
The president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffuor, popularly known in the showbiz world as Obour, has explained why the name of this year’s Ghana’s week-long music festival has been changed from Ghana Music Week to GMW.
Anybody who has been following very closely the activities of MUSIGA would be on familiar terms with the controversy surrounding the said name – Ghana Music Week.
According to Obour, the executives of the musician’s union were informed last year after the maiden edition of the music week that some members of the union had gone ahead to register the Ghana Music Week at the Registrar General’s Office as their own.
This, he described as very sad and unfortunate. Hence, there was the need to opt for another name, which is the GMW instead of the Ghana Music Week.
GhanaCelebrities.Com has gathered from Opera Square that an understanding has been reached amongst the stakeholders in the film industry to release 8 Ghanaian movies and 3 foreign movies per week for sale.
GhanaCelebrities.Com therefore visited Opera Square today to ask whether they are able to make profit or break even; in the face of the huge quantities of movies they release unto the film market per week. In other words, do people buy the movies which seem to be outwitting demand?
It was there that we gathered from one man who only gave his name as Ibrahim – a film seller, that, an understanding has been reached amongst the Film Producers Association of Ghana FIPAG and the Film Marketers, Distributors and Sellers Association that only 8 Ghanaian and 3 foreign movies, shall be released per week.
Indeed, he revealed that the directive took effect from Monday 3rd Feb, 2013.
If an authority like Hon. Fritz Baffour comes public to say that he is not too enthused about Ghanaian comedy, then, it means our Ghanaian comedians of today need to pep up their game.
On Wednesday 5th Feb, 2013, Hon. Fritz Baffour was asked on Channel R if he is a comedian but he said no. Asked if he enjoys the current crop of comedians in Ghana and the honourable said that he does not.
“I’m not too enthused about Ghanaian comedy. When we started comedy in the past with people like KSM and Tommy Annan Forson, we gave out deep comedy. Now the industry is bad! Investment in comedy is poor, so basically, I’m not enthused about comedy in Ghana now.”
It is rather unfortunate that no matter how vigorously female artistes like Eazzy work, the Ghanaian music industry continues to disappointment them… Without well thought-of strategies and platforms to make the music business profitable and commendably attractive, our Ghanaian male musicians continue to struggle but their female counterparts are worse under the male dominated chain. … Read more
My brother and I moved in to our new flat about four weeks ago though we’ve had heard a lot about the presence of thieves in this area. The morning after our third day of moving in, our neighbour reported of witnessing a ‘thief’ in our compound (Probably the thief wanted to welcome us).
The situation out here demanded for some security measures to be taken place. Therefore, just last two weeks, we purchased some of these foreign breed dogs to serve as our security team. In addition to that, I myself also serve as a self-employed guard waking up every dawn to inspect the compound.
Why not humans? In a world like this where nobody can be trusted, you might even employ somebody thinking he is securing your property when in fact that person is a thief in disguise.
There is not a single day when one would tune into a radio station, read newspapers or watch television and he/she would not come across news relating to robbery.
For more than a year now, Mzbel (real name Nana Ekua Amoah) has not been really certain as to whether she will be returning to music after she took time off to give birth to cutie-Aaron.
We heard she may not be coming back to thrill us with her provoking songs anymore as her baby’s Daddy do not fully support her musical career—something that definitely must have hurt her musical fans…
In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Mzbel has played down her non-return rumours and has given a strong indication that she will soon be mounting various musical platforms—again.
“Yes, I am ready to get back to business next month and I can’t start doing what I have always loved to do, which is to entertain people, but I won’t be back as the old Mzbel people know me. “ I have rebranded myself to demonstrate my maturity over the years and that will be evident in my music as well as my appearances. I will however remain sexy but in a matured way,” Mzbel is reported to have said”
It was a night full of bliss. Who wouldn’t be happy when he/she is been given a treat? I felt the same way when I attended the MultiChoice and Eutelsat Communications Gala Dinner in celebration of the third edition of the DSTV Eutelsat Star Awards at the Golden Tulip Hotel last night on behalf of GhanaCelebrities.Com.
Where do I even start from?
As soon as I arrived at Golden Tulip, I was served with a tasty fruit drink. With a good – looking waitress smiling and serving me with my first drink (that should tell you I took more than one), who am I to have rejected it?
As for the food,I cannot describe or mention them all. They were arranged in a long queue like some electorates in a queue to cast their votes for their favourite presidential candidate.
Before I fall into a trance, let me talk about the main program first. I may later come back and share the food and drink experience with you. After all, the dinner was organised for a purpose, not for absolutely free consumption of food and drinks. Actually, the event was used to announce the finalists of the 2013 DSTV Eutelsat Star Competition.
The Award, which is a product of a partnership between Eutelsat and MultiChoice Africa, aims to stimulate interest in science and technology and to inspire innovative thinking among secondary and high school students across the continent.
According to the above mentioned companies, Africa faces a huge shortage of relevant skills in Science and Technology, so there was the need to come up with this competition.
A young Ghanaian-Michael Amankwa has succeeded in advancing his excellent abstract ideas into a practical solution enterprise, geared towards enhancing the lives of many people in Africa.
After obtaining from James Madison University a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and completing his Master of Science degree in information technology and telecommunication systems from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, Michael Amankwa decided to make a real life impact with the extensive knowledge acquired…
Where to start from would surely have been difficult for him but in consonance with his long held belief that “Africa has a lot to offer to the rest of the world’, Amankwa founded CoreNett Limited in Ghana, a transactions processing management company that provides cutting edge solutions to retailers, governments and other institutions for processing electronic transactions.
With the many self-driven and taught concepts in mind, Amankwa has succeeded in transforming CoreNett Limited into a multinational company, providing daily technologically advanced financial services to boost and speed business transactions in Africa.
Apart from the fact that Michael Amankwa smartly noted a gap in the market and quickly jumped in, he also realized that the existing gap needed to be bridged—as it was curtailing the progress of several African businesses…
