SHOTS FIRED: KKD Says Yvonne Nelson & Others Who Bleach Have Low Self-Esteem + He Says Jackie Appiah & Other Dark Skin Women ROCK!

KKD

Following a comment Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) made some few weeks ago that Yvonne Nelson has changed in complexion—from dark to fair, considering how she used to look like some years back, Yvonne Nelson decided to hit back.

Yvonne Nelson who appeared on ‘Hanging Out With KOD’ on GH One TV over the weekend threw some shots at KKD,  saying, she was disappointed in KKD over comments he made about her complexion which sort of suggests that she has bleached her skin.

It seems KKD is furious with the statement Yvonne Nelson made and has taken to his facebook to write a whole piece about ‘black being beautiful’. You do not have to read it twice to know who KKD is throwing the daggers at…

After posting the below piece, KKD is reported to have said on a certain Accra based radio that, his write up is not directed at only Yvonne Nelson—- but to all black people who for whatever reason think they look better by being light skin.

Also, KKD added that, if  he was the President of Ghana he would never give public office to any man or woman who bleaches…

He continued by saying, skin bleaching has become a serious problem in Ghana’s Entertainment industry and  sadly public figures who are supposed to be role models to the new generation are the ones bleaching the most.

Ending it all, KKD said anybody who bleaches—be it a male or female surely has a very low self-esteem.

Read KKD’s write up below…

Black is beautiful

Love the skin you are in. If you have bad rashes, deal with them through a doctor and his/her medical prescriptions.
But please SAY NO TO BLEACHING!

Many otherwise pretty women today have weak skins on burnt faces, bosoms, arms, thighs and legs caused by the bleaching they denied they were doing in their youth.

As global warming makes our part of the world even hotter, and skins in tropical climes get darker to better protect us from the harsh rays of the sun, daughters of a proud black nation that spearheaded the independence revolution south of the unforgiving Sahara desert are getting quizzically lighter. Hmmmm.

Whilst bleaching remains off the radar in many educated & well-to-do African and Caribbean homes, it is saddening that the poor, illiterates in dire need of any passing act to imitate may just photocopy this needless practice of bleaching to the point where their elbows and knees will be nearly opposite in complexion to their cheeks and bosoms. Men, women, boys and girls are equally gullible as evidenced by some performers and their herd of sheep.

GhanaCelebrities.Com broke a story on Monday 17th Feb, 2013 headlined “Yvonne Nelson Rubbishes Actors Guild & Says ‘They Did Nothing For Me When I Was Banned’ But the Guild’s President Says She is ‘Liar.”

In the said story, Yvonne Nelson accused the Ghana Actors Guild GAG for doing nothing when she was banned by the Film Producers Association of Ghana, FIPAG in 2010. Quoting: ““When my issue (ban) came up, the Actors Guild did nothing for me. They only came, sat, had some meetings and that was all. They did nothing for me. I kept quite but have to come out finally” Yvonne revealed on ‘Hang Out with KOD’ hosted by KOD on Gh One.

The story was reviewed on Neat fm today, Tuesday 18th Feb, 2013. When Kwasi Aboagye, host of the programme called the Ghana Actors Guild, Mr. Nii Odoi Mensah, he confirmed his side of the story as reported by GhanaCelebrities.Com earlier.

Mr. Odoi revealed further on Neat fm “as at the time her issue came up, she was not attending the guild’s meetings and even after the issue died, she still hasn’t attended any of our meetings! Yet, we intervened and had several meetings on her behalf! Today she is accusing us for not doing anything! That is how ungrateful human beings are.”

Socrate Sarfo, who was the Public Relations Officer of FIPAG in 2010 when Yvonne Nelson was banned, was also called for his reactions on the story. “Yvonne is right! She is right because she never attended the series of meetings the Ghana Actors Guild had with FIPAG!”

DID HE REALLY SAY THAT? I Will Beat Any of My Artiste If He Disrespects Me-Says Shatta Wale’s Manager-Bulldog

Bulldog

It is only in Ghana that you will hear an artiste manager who makes a living out of artistes pouring out this absurdity on radio, and still thinks it is the best thing he has ever said.

Has Bulldog, real name-Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson heard of battery and assault?

When we say our Entertainment industry is a joke, some people who hate to hear the truth will jump on our necks—claiming we are not being fair. But how can the manager of one of the current biggest artistes in country-Shatta Wale say that; he will beat the hell out of his artiste by punching him or her if the person disrespects him?

And let me add that, he will also find his butt in jail for criminal battery after the punch. Try and say this on radio anywhere in the world and you are out of job—FOREVER.

According to Myjoyonline;

Artiste manager and CEO of Bull Haus Entertainment, Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson (Bulldog) has warned that he wouldn’t hesitate to beat up any artiste he manages should the artiste look down on him.

According to Bulldog, as an artiste manager, he will accord him or her the needed respect in all matters and expects same from the artiste.

Speaking on Rhythmz A-Z on Joy FM Saturday, hosted by Nii Ayi Tagoe, the Bull House CEO stressed that he will physically attack the artiste should the artiste disrespect him.

“It is not a smooth journey and I’ve always been open with the artistes. I face my problems but I don’t have any artiste looking down on me, when you do that [I will beat you] and I will walk away after punching you,” he said.

Ghanaian Traders Need Some Serious Education in Customer Relations

Market_Women_in_Ghana

Have you ever walked into a shop to buy something for yourself and the shop owner treated you with disrespect? Or have you never boarded a trotro or taxi where the mate or driver picked a fight with you over the fare or other petty issues? I bet you that if we give this space out for each and everyone to share an experience; we will have dozens of them.

Be it at the market, supermarkets, street hawkers, and the list goes on and on, you are sure to find traders who display such an uncouth behaviour. Sometimes, you are tempted to ask yourself if you are doing them good by buying their items or they are rather doing you good for selling their goods to you.

It becomes incongruous when purchasing goods with your own money; you are treated like an animal by a trader who does not know either his/her left or right. There have been instances where I actually had to leave whatever I was buying and scout for a different place to make my purchases.

I once entered a shop to get for myself mosquito spray and a recharge card. I met the shop owner sitting right in front of the shop. I greeted her but she never responded (what an uncivilized attitude). I went ahead to tell her what I was buying. This woman kept quiet, sat for some few seconds, and then stood up without asking me the amount or quantity I intended to buy.
