Today, we have two of our Ghanaian actresses giving us a close look at their faces as we search for that facial perfection and beauty.
Jackie Appiah has made more than a name for herself—in fact, she has created one of the strongest brands in our Entertainment Industry, and have won countless awards. Calling her the best Ghanaian actress may be considered as an understatement.
Considering the controversies surrounding this year’s Ghana Music Awards, many are those who have suggested or believe that the entire nominated list be reviewed and some of the faux pas in the list corrected.
However, GhanaCelebrities.Com has noted that announcement or adverts are already running on television station – GH One, for the public to vote for their favourite artiste or song. Out of curiosity, GhanaCelebrities.Com contacted the Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, Mr. George Nii Armah Quaye, for explanations.
“Well, the nominations are already running. Fact is, the board has taken all the suggestions, queries, and recommendations from the general public in good faith and are working behind the scene. However, we can’t afford to hold the whole award in ransom because of some few artistes or songs whose nominations are in contention.
We don’t think it will be fair to halt participation in the award scheme at the expense of the 30 nominations because of a few. We will not be treating the majority of the nominees fairly.” GhanaCelebrities.Com asked Mr. Quaye if it is possible some nominees might be disqualified after the board’s reseating and resolution.
“It is highly possible! The board is reseating to reexamine some of the nominations based on additional information they have received after the nomination list was released. If at the end of the day a nominee or song happens not to meet the award’s criteria, it shall be disqualified! That we can assure the public.”
With a proposal of $20 million having been presented, the Cabinet seems to have done a good cut down by only approving about $10 million as Ghana’s World Cup Budget, considering the fact that $19 million was approved for the last World Cup held in South Africa.
Nevertheless, the nearly US$10 million (Gh¢24,677,025) approved budget is pretty high compared to the US football Federation’s World Cup budget for Brazil which is listed at US$2 million although the amount may increase. Algeria has proposed US$5.8 million; One million of the mount will be received from sponsorship and Belgium on December 12 announced an allocation of €4.5 million for the national team for Brazil 2014.
Last year, Ghanaian TV personality/Actress-Joselyn Dumas was invited by female students of Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) to share her experiences with them, being an accomplished woman.
Few days ago, Lawyer/Television host, Sandra Ankobiah, also met with students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism in Accra.
Ankobiah, who was special guest for the Student Representative Council’s event on Post International Women’s Day, opened up her world as a Lawyer and television host to the dozens of students who turned up.
Among other things she talked about the need for women to use their voices to push and propagate society’s positives.
She also touched on how women should continue to fight for gender equality, insisting it was one of the many ways by which they can ensure that the equity they seek in their respective places of occupation are achieved.
I am laughing at the people surprised by this news because personally, I am not. All news surrounding Elikem after Big brother have proven that he is a play boy extraordinaire.
And given the history of women he dates, I am most certain he is usually in for the financial gains so with Pokello, I have been patiently waiting for the charade to end and for reality to start.
In September 2013 when the whole Elikem and Pokello relationship took over the media, GhanaCelebrities.Com maintained it was a scam, a publicity stunt and will not last.
We wrote at the time; “Knowing how Elikem rolls, we know Pokello is not his kind of woman as she is cash starved—though she may easily meet the age requirement.
We all know the two who claim to be love birds are swimming in a pool of publicity stunt. But as usual, as African Celebrities who do not know how to employ publicity stunts—they are making it too obvious with their ‘suppose’ relationship.
It is enough that you want people to loosely believe the two of you are an item in an attempt to get media attention and the people talking.
But to quickly jump from there and start talking marriage makes the whole concept WEAK. Even the biggest idiot can see through it”.
