Christians; The Most Hypocrites Amongst All Creatures?

Hypocrisy

Readers should note that I am a Christian, but as a writer, I am looking at things from a neutral position. I ought not defend Christians in everything simply because I am a Christian. I write to praise as well as to criticise when there is the need to do so.

Quite a number of religions have sprung up within the past centuries. With the likes of Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, among others, Christianity is regarded as the largest religion on Earth. Out of 7.151 billion (as at July 2013) people residing on the Earth, 2.3 billion are Christians.

For those who might not understand what the term religion actually means, it is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. For Christians, the Bible is their “constitution” that directs them as to their way of life, what they ought to believe in and so on and so forth.

It is quite interesting how Christians behave in this our modern era. Just as every person believes in his or her religion as the right one, Christians cannot be exempted from this. However, Christians are somehow dogmatic about their religion, yet majority of them seem to be playing the roles of a devil but have covered their faces with that of angels.

Why this argument? There are a number of points that could be raised to justify this claim, though I will be dealing with a few of them. Let me first set in motion by defining hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is defined as a pretence of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.

As imperfect humans, none of us can be proud to say he/she is infallible. We all sin in one way or another, yet as far as my memory serves me right, Christians are the quickest people to judge an individual when one transgresses. For illustration sake, I would like to use the case of homosexuality as a point of reference because that is the trending issue now.

In as much as I don’t support homosexuality, I don’t like the approach most Christians go about the whole issue. There is a killer punch line that homosexuals have been using to condemn such Christians which is true to a large extent. Majority of people who call themselves Christians fornicate, commit adultery, engage in robbery, oppress people, murder, smoke, and engage in a whole lot of social vices, yet these ones are quick to point fingers to others who sin in different forms.

Is there any sin which is greater or bigger than another? As far as I am concerned, all sins are equal before God.

Dencia’s Whitenicious Skin Lightening/Bleaching Cream | Watch Her Defend Her Product on BBC & UK’s Channel 4

Dencia on Channel 4

Personally, I do not see the sense in anyone jumping into a discourse with someone like Dencia, who has relegated morals to the background and feels she does not owe anyone anything—except to make some money for herself.

Again, I do not see the sense in giant media outlets like the BBC inviting Dencia over for conversations over her Whitenicious ‘bleaching’ cream, expecting that she will openly admit she is selling a full skin lightening cream.

Increasingly, we are giving her and her product an underserving attention and eventually, she will be able to reach out to some already low esteem black folks who will see her as a Messiah—hoping a change of complexion will make them feel better.

Dencia’s arguments are aggressively nonsense and I feel those questioning her or engaging in conversation with her are letting her loose…

The role model argument does not work for corrupted minds like Dencia, what actually works is to stand up against her with scientific/factual findings on the effects of the chemicals used in the cream—and then she will have nothing to say.

Anyway, Dencia was on Channel 4 last night and the BBC Focus on Africa to defend her Whitenicious bleaching cream…

The Top Rising Ghanaian Music Stars Of 2014 REVEALED!

Kumi Guitar
Kumi Guitar

In every industry, there exist those who pave the way (pioneers) for others to follow and those who join later and become successful. The Ghana music industry is not an exception to that. New talented artists pop up each passing year. Not only are all these artists new. Quite a number of them are just old wines packed in new bottles.

Last year for instance, one of such musicians who climbed the success ladder was Bandana. (I used Bandana because that is the name he used for showbiz when he made his debut appearance). Shatta Wale is a name he acquired as part of his rebranding exercise, which fortunately did the magic for him and shot him to the top last year.

This year is going to be another great year as it has already started on a good note.  With new talented artists emerging, we are sure to discover some who will transform our music industry. I did an analysis and I’ve come to a conclusion as to the artists who are going to be the RISING STARS of 2014.

Kofi Kinaata

Kofi Kinaata is a Fante rapper who is currently signed on as a member of the High Grade Family. With great punch lines and an artistic approach to rap, he has released songs like “Move”, “Different”, “Obi Ne Ba” among others. Notwithstanding, he was as well featured alongside Baby Jet (Asamoah Gyan) in Castro’s “Odo pa” track which is at present receiving considerable airplay.

As a fast rising upcoming artiste, he calls himself the Flight Lieutenant Kernel Corporal Sergeant Commander Kinaata. He can be referred to as imminent new king of rap. Kofi Kinaata represents the people of Tarkoradi which I must say, he is raising the flag of his people very high.

Even though he received not a single nomination with regards to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Kinaata continues to make great songs as he is known for. If there is any artiste to watch out for in 2014, Kofi Kinaata should definitely be one of them.

Kumi Guitar

Nana Yaw Kumi is his real name. He enjoys performing his job as a taxi driver, yet music is his greatest passion. He started his music career as a rap artist. Somewhere along the line, he rebranded himself and took upon himself to engage in highlife music. With a unique voice and great stage performance, Kumi is ever ready to take over the Ghanaian music industry.

As it is often said by our musicians that Ghanaians do not buy CDs anymore, one person I would ever want to buy his album for records will be Kumi Guitar. His songs are distinctive, original, and can stand the test of time.
