One Key Thing African Countries Have in Common is CORRUPTION & This is Why…

Africa Problems
Africa Problems

Corruption is a human trait embedded in our genes of greed and inherent desire to live comfortably, regardless of the consequence our well-being would fetch others. Therefore, to say corruption is solely confined within the borders of Africa will not only be wrong, but it would suggest that you have little knowledge in relation to world leadership and politics…

In any society including the West where there are leadership ladders, corruption has an agent out there. In fact, in every human community—-be it the distant shelters of the amazon forest or the cold regions of Iceland, corruption has a stake in the running of affairs.

However, the agency of corruption seems to be on different a radar, with increasing desires which are not curtailed by other agencies, to bring its manifestation under control in Africa.

Africa has somehow become synonymous to corruption and poverty—and no matter how long people argue to debunk this projection, the fact remains that corruption is briskly on an increase, which creates a community of overly rich people surrounded by a mass of people wallowing in absolute and needless poverty.

People in positions of leadership in Britain, America, Australia, Canada and probably even in heaven have the genes of corruption which some are able to individually control—with the majority unable to regulate these genes, except to give it the full force of manifestation.

The above is the situation in Africa but in other parts of the world where corruption seems to be non-existing or does not have the needed wheels to operate, it is not the human conscience and sense of morality that generally push corruption out of the road. It is the counter agencies/institutions of accountability, transparency and the people’s opposing desire to know the truth that put corruption in check.

In Africa, we seem to have left the eradication of corruption—since corruption cannot be totally eradicated, let me say the needed control of this human greed to conscience and morality, as if every person is in tune with these human attributes. I believe it will not amount to contempt to say, most politicians have discarded their conscience and morality—so leaving the control of corruption to such people on top of the leadership chain in Africa is what has fixed us in our current state.

Instead of establishing and strengthening our counter corruption institutions to be able to robustly check the activities and night businesses of the people we put in leadership and control of our resources, we’ve left their conscience to judge them and morality to kick in when their genes of corruption erupt.

For many decades, conscience and morality have failed us, unable to serve as a proper combat force capable of fighting the snowballing genes of corruption in us and our leaders.

Yes, corruption is everywhere but what is not everywhere are the pills to disorient its operations and manifestations. Even without these strong ‘corruption checking institutions’ in place, our individual desire for the truth has completely vanished. No one tells the truth in Africa anymore…

The default position is; everybody is somehow corrupt simply because we have the genes of corruption in us by no fault of ours—I guess it is part of the intelligent design of the majestic and divine dictator-God.

However, we have the ability to erect counter institutions to serve as appropriate check on this bad gene which we were gifted. This is where Africa has failed and the reason why every person we put in leadership ends up joining the unmerciful gang of corrupt leaders—forcing the masses into a bottomless pit of struggles and poverty, with no hope for a better tomorrow.

It looks dark out there in Africa and until we realize that leadership change will not necessarily bring us a good bargain and begin to invest in institutions that will allow accountability, transparency and serve as a check on corruption, we are heading for doom.

More importantly, we must rejuvenate our truth telling desires and applaud the truth in the face of the immediate benefits and comfort that falsehood and propaganda will bring us. If it is black, we should state it as such and not say it is blue black…
