It’s that time of the year again when floods and losses of lives are recorded in several parts of Ghana without fail. Year after year this happens and yet we have not developed beyond petty floods from the slightest rain, especially in the capital-Accra.
You would also think we have learned enough from previous years to protect ourselves from such a mess but again, NO.
We have a Mayor who is sitting in a good untouched spot waiting for this rain to end so he can come out and rant about how unfortunate it is that people have lost their lives and properties and how we need to stop building along water ways.
When I think about how docile Ghanaians are that we are taken for a ride by literally everyone in public office gets me angry beyond words. Look at these pictures below and tell me if these places are all along waterways.
And please, if we know the waterways, why haven’t we improved drainage along these key areas? This happens so predictably, why have we done absolutely nothing about it? Year after year, Government after Government, we get flooded…
What is in the Ghanaian wind or water or food that switches our brains into total submission to Baloney?
It’s just painful to watch people suffer and some die over the least rain. And you know what? It is the rainy season and the ‘drip all day’ rains have only just started. Now sit back and wait for the mayor’s speech. Tssk!

u guys shd leave dis young nigga aside cuz he aint done nothing… we living in a country full of cowards n beign govern by ignorant and greedy people. the u.s.a havin de biggest economy in de world have only $2m budget for de world cup in brazil whiles a third world and poor country like our country ghana have more dan 9 times de budget of u.s.a to de same tournament… now, de mayor of accra is asking they go for a $3m loan from de u.s,.a to do drainage system in de city… so wat kind of human beings do we have as leaders in our country…..i sometimes feel sad to be a ghanaian
