NANA KWAKU BONSAM – Stop Disgracing Ghana!

Nana Kwaku Bonsam
Nana Kwaku Bonsam

It is most unfortunate that international media outlets have picked up on the narcissistic ramblings of a Ghanaian spiritualist who evidently prefers enriching his own coffers and embellishing his own name to the wellbeing and reputation of his nation.

I am referring to Nana Kwaku Bonsam, touted to be Ghana’s foremost spiritualist, who haphazardly decided to besmirch Ghana’s name before the eyes of the world by claiming his ‘devilish powers’ are behind the current injury of Portugal star and arguably the world’s best player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to reports, Bonsam claims to have conjured a special powder from his gods which was placed around an image and caricature of Ronaldo, rendering his present injury untreatable by conventional medics and leaving his World Cup hopes tattered.

My grouse with this report, apart from its clear ludicrousness, is the impression it will undoubtedly create in the minds of people towards Ghana – as a nation crawling in ‘fetish priests’ with ‘black magic’. With such reports being bandied about, if Ghana excels in the tournament, some will unscrupulously attribute it to some ‘juju’ at work. If the Black Stars do overcome Portugal come June 26th, people will unfortunately play up the influence of devilish power rather than the skill, determination and prowess of our boys.

My question to Kwaku is this – if indeed you are so ‘powerful’, why can’t you empower the current Ghanaian squad to face their opponents? What is your business with CR7 alone when there are plenty of other stars capable of inflicting defeat on Ghana?

John Dumelo and the Other Ghollywood Actors are Only Known at Legon While the Kumawood Ones Are Known Far & Beyond-Says Mr. Beautiful

Joselyn Dumas and John Dumelo

The battle for supremacy between the two sides of the Ghanaian movie industry-Kumawood and Ghollywood lives on, with a statement by Kumawood actor-Mr Beautiful (real name Clement Bonney) indicating that Kumawood is winning the fight.

On Peace Fm’s Entertainment Review yesterday, Mr. Beautiful stated among other things that, the Kumawood actors are far popular than the Ghollywood actors. Therefore, the Ministry of Sports having picked John Dumelo and Jackie Appiah as ambassadors for the 2014 World Cup without any Kumawood actor having been considered was a big WRONG move.

Mr. Beautiful mentioned that, he does not see any reason why actors like Lil Win, Kwaku Manu, Kyeiwaa and others were not picked or considered, rather two English speaking actors-John Dumelo and Jackie Appiah were chosen.

President John Mahama and Alan ‘Cash’ Kyeremanten Visit Flooded Communities | Akuffo Addo Might Be Joining Soon…Who Told You They Have the People’s Interest at Heart? Tweaa!

Ghana Flood
Ghana Flood

Several parts of Accra yesterday witnessed a heavy downpour of rain. The rainfall, which began in the early hours of yesterday (Thursday, June 5th, 2014), continued till late evening. Many of the areas in Accra were heavily flooded. People homes became annexes to beaches. For once, I thought I was dreaming about the days of Noah, where God used deluge to destroy wicked people.

Some few hours after the flood, the president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama, has come out to visit some of the areas that got flooded. According to him, his government will put down appropriate measures to solve the flooding issue the country is facing anytime it rains. Until when will Ghanaians cease to hear such sweet talks from presidents again?

Same talks are repeated year after year, yet we see no change or improvement. Our leaders have become like the Vulture that plans to build a shelter for itself anytime it rains, but forgets about it when the rain stops.

The president is not the only person who has taken the step to console people who have lost their belongings due to the heavy rainfall. Another political figure who joined was Alan Kojo Kyerematen, aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party. Mr Kyerematen has also visit places like Kaneshie, Nkrumah Circle, and the rest, in an effort to raise the spirits of the people.

It won’t be surprising if we hear Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, aspiring and previous presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, and Paa Kwesi Nduom, founder of Progressive People’s Party have also visited flooded communities.

Is Yvonne Okoro Almost BROKE? | When The Cheques Stop Coming, You Will Be Forced to REPEAT the Same Dress…

Yvonne Okoro
Yvonne Okoro

Actress Yvonne Okoro drives a Mercedes Benz which she is rumoured to have received from a certain businessman in Ghana, for FREE. And don’t repeat this anywhere else you will get your butt sued…

Over the years, we’ve talked about Ghanaian celebrities living beyond their means—claiming to be ‘balling’ when in fact; they don’t have that much of a bank balance.

When it comes to those western celebrities our local stars desperately want to copy, you will hardly catch then repeating a dress—that is what makes it difficult to be a real celebrity, especially when you want to be seen everywhere.

About two years ago, Yvonne Okoro attended the annual Showbiz Honour, rocking a yellow dress—and we swear, we just spotted her wearing the SAME goddam dress in Nigeria, where she is shooting a movie.

If this was any ordinary person, we wouldn’t have been bothered with it but considering the fact that celebrities like Yvonne Okoro and the rest want to tell us they are STINKING rich, showing their wealth with their first class airplane photos, designer wears among others, we decided to point this out.

Don’t Blame People with Disabilities who Beg on Roadsides; Blame the Unfavourable System They Find Themselves in…

Begger in Ghana
Begger in Ghana

If you live in Ghana or perhaps have taken a trip to Ghana before, I believe you have one way or the other come across many people living with disabilities who beg for alms along roadsides. Such ones do so with the aim of acquiring financial assistance from benevolent people who ply the road. At times, such ones risk their lives by getting into busy roads; all in the name of begging for money.

Because the blind amongst these individuals cannot join the street alone, they hire able people to lead them whilst they themselves do the persuasion. Majority, if not all of these disabled people, depend on the money they derive from this act for survival.

I have come across many people who utter words such as the following to disabled people when they ask for money from them. “Go and work. Begging won’t help you”, “Who told you a disabled person cannot work. Lazy people”, “A disabled person like yourself has manufactured a car in another country. You are here begging. Find something better to do with your life.” These are but few expressions that some angry Ghanaians throw to disabled people.

I have, in the past, had similar sentiments towards them. As time went by, I came to the realisation that these people are not to be blamed for choosing to beg from people instead of working. In as much as some might be lazy to work, I still don’t think such ones are challenged by the society to work. Few disabled people have been able to defy the odds.

I attribute it all to the system we have here in Ghana. The system isn’t challenging and favourable enough to disabled people. Able people are even finding it very difficult to differentiate their left from right, how much more the disabled? We live in a country where nothing favours disabled people.

We all find ourselves in a system where the fittest only survives. Governmental policies and projects do not take disabled people into account. If such is the case, how then do we expect these people to survive in this ‘hard’ economy?

The Battle of the Witch Doctors : Portugees Witch Doctor- Mel Sigurson Says He is Also Working on Ghana & Caused Jerry Akaminko’s Injury

This is beyond ridiculous but we’ve decided to report it for those of you who may be interested… Few days ago, the family of Black Star player-Jerry Akaminko came out to say, they believe someone in the team used ‘juju’ on him, so he could not play at the 2014 World Cup—and that was before … Read more
