Eazzy

Ghanaian musician-Eazzy (real name Mildred Ashong ) has released several promo photos which we’ve received with mixed feelings. You cannot find a single bad word for Eazzy’s well-toned body but some of the poses and styles in the promo photos got us rolling our eyes.

Eazzy has attempted several re-branding strategies which have not really worked. Recently, her sudden change of complexion brought the bleaching radar to fall on her but as most of them do, she has denied bleaching, claiming, she has been filtering her photos to look fair.

In these newly released photos, you can find those that fit within the box of good, those that can be best described as bad and there are definitely some ugly ones too…

MUST LISTEN to AUDIO: The Celebrity Lifestyle | First Class Travel, Expensive Bags, Exotic Holidays, Designer Wears- Who is Paying For All This? THE ANSWER IS HERE…

Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri

My recent article titled “The Ghanaian Celebrity Lifestyle: First Class Travel, Expensive Bags, Exotic Holidays, Designer Wears—WHO IS PAYING FOR ALL THIS?” went viral and over the weekend, Peace Fm’s Entertainment Review looked at the piece as they attempted to answer what I think is a legitimate industry question.

Before the panel members-Halifax Ansah Addo (Editor of NewsOne), Mark Okraku Mantey (CEO of Slip Music) and James Oberku took the challenge to answer who is the financier(s) behind the expensive lifestyles most of our Ghanaian celebrities live, I was called by the host of the show-Kwasi Aboagye to establish the background of my article—and why I am asking the al important question.

After my submission, the panel members had a lot to say. Interesting, all of them sort of agreed that there is no way the income of these celebrities could sustain the lifestyles they are living or want us to believe they are living—therefore there is something going DOWN that they are hiding.

One of the panel members even went as far as mentioning the type of night business he has heard the female celebrities are into, which he believes must be where the expensive lifestyle money is coming from…

Apparently, behind closed doors, most people ask this same question and even state the dirty businesses that these celebrities—especially the female ones are involved in…But when outside, it is difficult to mention it.

Side Note: I have received several calls from Ghana, saying, Sandra Ankobiah went on ranting this morning on TV3, insulting my person and all the GC readers. That is beautiful. As a Voltaire-ian who lives by “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”, I understand freedom of speech and expression entails the right to to be offensive….

A Lannister Always Pays His Debts | One GREAT Thing Every Ghanaian Must Learn From ‘Game of Thrones’…

Tyrion Lannister
Tyrion Lannister

I am one of the few people who do not love to watch TV series—simply because I believe you can spend over 100 valuable hours watching a single TV series when you could have watched 50 full real cinema movies, which goes a long way to support and give relevance to the dying theatre culture.

Though I did not bow to the pressures of Prison Break, earlier this year, countless people kept asking me about ‘Game of Thrones’ which somewhat has become a subject of discussion when you meet people for a drink or even a business meeting. So I joined the ‘Game of Thrones’ addicts (a mild addict though) putting hours of my time into watching it every weekend.

Like most TV series, ‘Game of Thrones’ is highly addictive with interesting characters capable of buying your conscience. Before you know, you would have fallen in love with what a character stands for, his or her family and their take on developments. But don’t forget what comes after—the heartbreaking moment when your favourite gets killed or thrown into jail is inevitable. After all, when you play the ‘Game of Thrones’, you either win or die…

In the ‘Game of Thrones’, one of the great houses of the seven Kingdoms is called ‘House Lannister of Casterly Rock’—whose mainseat is Casterly Rock, with another stationed in nearby Lannisport. A person from this great house is called a ‘Lannister’ and the Lannisters’ official motto is ‘Hear Me Roar’.

However, they also have an equally well known unofficial motto which is ‘a Lannister always pays his debts’. It is this motto and the great upshot it brings that I believe every Ghanaian can learn from.

As a Ghanaian, what are you known for? Are you known to keep your promise, are you known to be a person of honour—and do you actually care about your own reputation, that of your family or friends?

Mostly, our desire for instant gratification, undeserving instantaneous success among others things pushes us into forgetting the great or bad benefits—now and later, that having any sort of reputation can fetch us…

It looks like the ‘PLENTY radio talk’ and outburst by certain Kumawood stars over the fact that nobody from their camp was selected as a World Cup ambassador or to go the 2014 World Cup has paid off…

According to a report by GhanaSportsOnline, the Government of Ghana has issued a directive requesting that 7 Kumawood stars should also be picked as 2014 World Cup ambassadors.

Akua Ataa ‘Kyeiwaa’, Kwame BA, Kwaku Manu, Ras Nii, Dabodabo and 4 other Kumawood stars have been named as ambassadors alongside the already 15 or so unveiled ambassadors.

Speaking to Angel Fm, Kumawood movie producer-Jones Agyeman said “We think we (Kumawood actors) were side-lined in the naming of the ambassadors for the World Cup and so we fought through many quarters and got ourselves to the ministry’s headquarters”.

Ghana Vrs South Korea: Watch it LIVE + Updates & Commentaries

Black Stars
Black Stars

Ghana’s Black Star will today take up the South Koreans—also a World Cup participating team in their last friendly match before the World Cup which kicks off in Brazil on 12th June, 2014.

As we’ve always done, GhanaCelebrities.Com will be streaming the match live for our readers to be able to watch it and probably take a final stand as to if the Ghanaian team is worth putting out your whole heart for. I’ve already lost a bet on them so I am going to be careful when it comes to money

As we mentioned yesterday, the Black Stars desperately need a win to boost morale having lost their last two friendly games. This means the team has not won a game this year having lost 1-0 as well to Montenegro in March. With barely a week left to the beginning of the 2014 World Cup, taking place in Brazil, the value of a win against the Asian side cannot be underestimated.

Ghanaian actress-Lydia Forson recently sat down for an interview on Ndani’s Tv-The Juice in Nigeria and she talked about her experience on Phone Swap set, what she would probably be doing if she was not an actress and her charity work.

She dished out on the assumption that the daughters of pastors are somehow naughty, relating to her experience as the child of a Ghanaian pastor.

Menaye Donkor & Sulley Muntari BREAK-UP? I Don’t Believe This…

Reader’s message + Menaye Donkor

Few days ago, we posted a photo of Menaye Donkor on here when she visited Viasat 1 for an interview and her wedding ring was missing from her finger so we asked if “all is well” at the Muntari and Menaye camp—but did not give that any more attention. This is because; married women and men take off their rings and though sometimes this action is an indication of trouble, most times it just doesn’t mean anything much.

It was a little too weird for us that a married woman will be going on national TV for an interview and will not have her wedding ring on…But hey, nothing stops anyone from taking a ring off.

Shockingly, I just woke up to a long email from a reader who claims Menaye Donkor’s marriage to Ghanaian football star-Sulley Muntari is over but Menaye Donkor is jumping from one media house to another in Ghana, lying about the state of their marriage.

The message the reader sent has some wild allegations which we cannot confirm or deny. However, we just hope all things are well with Menaye Donkor and Sulley Muntari since I personally love the two being together…
